Trouble looking up foods to log when away from home

Hey y’all, I have no trouble logging foods at home on the app when on wifi, but out in the wild I can’t look up food to log, it only lets me choose from foods I previously logged. It’s been this way for forever for me. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

    it’s everywhere tho, like even with full bars

    Im sure I’m doing something wrong I just don’t know what
