Last night we went to dinner with the in-laws. We had a LOT of food, but I only ate until I was comfortably full instead of trying to stuff myself. I still went over on my calories (mostly because of having some drinks), but I don't feel bad, because I made some mostly healthy food choices overall!27

I do my grocery shopping using a click and collect service, and when you go to checkout, it comes up with a "have you forgotten" list of commonly purchased items.
I have noticed my "have you forgotten" list has evolved from a range of crackers, snacks, treats etc to more whole foods and pantry basics (fruit, vege, oats, milk).
That's not to say I don't still buy and consume treats, of course, but now they are actually Treats, not just my usual food.24 -
Out with a girlfriend I see every couple weeks. She asks "Well, how many down is it now"? I asked her "can you really notice it"? And she said "yes, very". I hugged her, nobody has actually mentioned it outside my mother and it meant a lot to me to hear it. Down 44 total, 32 of it since beginning of April.34

I have a neck.
I carry my weight above my waist and lost my neck when I was heavier. Well it’s back now.26 -
I had to throw away a pair of shorts yesterday because they kept falling down. They had an elastic waist, but because the elastic was sewn in, it couldn't be tightened. They were quite old, so it wasn't a big deal, but boy did it feel good.19

According to my Fitbit my resting heart rate is down from between 77and 75bpm To 68 bpm in 10 days just from adding exercise in to my daily routine. 😄23

Back in early 2020, I climbed stairs veeeeery slowly. I'd take one step with my 'strong leg' and then bring up the weaker leg to the same step. It was exhausting! Yesterday, I needed to get somewhere fast and took a flight of stairs two at a time like it was nuthin'.33

I was so grumpy the other day because I felt like my weight loss had slowed down over the past month and I was worried I was hitting a plateau, took my measurements and in that month I'd lost 3 inches off my waist32

The feeling of racing up the stairs and not needing a rest at the top is so amazing!!15 -
Laying on my side, I can really feel my hipbones now!!!
And yesterday, I realized I could run/walk a mile in under 15 minutes. That's faster than I've ever been! I kinda lost my mind a little when I saw that on the treadmill.18 -
Today, for the first time ever, a doctor said "You're doing great, keep doing what you are doing"27

It must feel great.
It felt pretty damn good.
Some docs, like any other profession, are jerks. I dumped one after her initial "plan" was to recommend a couple of diet websites and say she expected me back, 40 lbs lighter, in 2 months. Another went "Palpitations? Probably not anxiety, you're fat, so must be enlarged heart" after about 30 seconds of discussion. I got checked, it wasn't, but his "diagnosis" sure didn't help.
I eventually found a doc that is reasonable, encouraging and actually listens and helps plan a strategy for improvement. It was a hassle to find him, but worth the effort.

Wow, those above dr. stories are terrible!
My biggest NSV is not freaking out that it hasn't budged in awhile.14 -
Today's NSV is that even though I had a few really crappy days, and was feeling super discouraged today and didn't want to even log anything, I went and did it anyway. I also did 30 minutes of cardio that made me SWEAT and logged that. And it turns out, I did better today than I thought I would. Went over my water goal, stayed well under calories, and was within a decent range for my other macros, sugar, and sodium.19

Once I added a number of veggies to my diet, haven't felt starving at all. In fact, at the end of the day I am usually scrambling to make sure I have enough calories. NSV for sure, as when I am really hungry - I am on the slide and bad decisions are a few steps away.21

To be completely honest, I haven’t really given my GP much to say that I’m doing great, except the first checkup after my diabetes diagnosis in February.
She might say “keep it up” when I see her in December. 😇
I do have some absolute horror show doctor experiences, though. But I’ll refrain from sharing them at this moment, so as to keep the conversation on topic, and avoid people arguing with me about my own experiences.

I'll have to try this - sounds delish!!4 -
One of my NSVs is how my weight loss has inspired others.
I went out to lunch with my mom after losing my first 40lbs or so. I was checking calorie counts on the menu to see what fit in my goal and sounded good. Mom started checking with me on the dishes she was interested in. After hearing the calorie counts she asked what app I was using. She downloaded MFP and set up her profile that day. She has just reached 80 days of consecutive logging, lost 19lbs and reduced her fasting blood sugar levels.45 -
My biggest NSV is not freaking out that it hasn't budged in awhile.
I'm going to have the second the motion! I've been at the same weight for the past 2 months and I was getting a little frustrated, even though it's my own fault. However, after reading your comment, I realized. I'm at the same weight for the past 2 months, I haven't gained any. That's a win even if it does include a scale.
I'm noticing my body is recomposing itself. A few people have asked if I've lost more weight, and I haven't but things are starting to show? There, that fits the NSV portion of the thread!

I've logged in for 50 consecutive days!
Even if I don't always log everything I eat, or work out every day...I'm still here, consistently being part of the community, learning new tools to help me move forward, and finding inspiration to get back on track35 -

Awareness is as much a part of this journey as everything else. You are making a conscious effort to log in every day and TRY! Keep up the good work!12 -
i've been focusing on daily exercise and feel a lot stronger even though i haven't been working out that long this time yet (just a couple of weeks), and morning exercise is really helping me manage my adhd and chronic pain through the day15

This is actually pretty huge. Well done!6 -
Today I fit pants I haven’t worn in ten years due to them being too small. They were a little too big. 😏24

I ate, like, a lot of cake yesterday. But today, I'm still exercising, I'm still tracking, I'm still being nice to myself. I'm remembering that there is no "wagon" to get on or fall off. It's a continuous journey. You just keep going.33
