    Scale up higher than I’d like, but mostly from too many calories earlier in August. Working to turn scale around. Smoke filled skies are not helping my steps.

    How long in maintenance: Since April 2016 - but gained 10 kg March-May 2020 after massive trauma combined with COVID-19.
    Maintenance weight range: 65-75 kg (not sure what’s the right answer - been up and down in there numerous times in my life, apart from going way over 2010-2015).
    I’d like to lose a bit to get back to 70 kg, but I’m still happy at around 75 kg.

    I’m experimenting with seeing how my satiety levels are in relation to the types of foods I eat. Trying to eat more whole foods, which I’ve been getting pretty good at, and less sugar, and it’s going quite well.
    Weekly averages checking day for me is Sunday.

    Success of the week: I continue to drift back down towards my goal range. Two pounds in August. One and a half of those are from the last two weeks. I took the week off work; already had approved leave. Used half of it even though I cancelled my river trip permit.

    Struggle of the week: Bummed about cancelling the river trip. At least I got out to paddle a little bit locally; more tomorrow.

    I still might revise my maintenance range up a bit. My current mass still has me at a healthy BMI. Like @Orphia, I feel like my range should be a bit lower. It is coming back down but so slowly. Winter is coming. I don't think that will make things any easier.

    The holidays I took over the summer have left their mark – my trend weight has gone from 49.5 kg at the end of June to nearly 51 kg now! Last week I was with my daughter and kids and we had fish and chips, pasties (we were in Cornwall) and cake – and beer!

    I have three weeks at home now before I go away again, so time to buckle down.

    Lost to 81 kg at Easter 2020 (top of normal bmi for me), but then gained back to 88 kg in April/May (Easter egg binge; lock down closed the pool...).

    Reflection: I came back from retreat and weighed in at just under 76kg, but two weeks later (back to drinking wine in the evenings after a month of no alcohol ...), I am firmly back at 77kg. I am still pretty toned having done a lot of walking on retreat, and am now back to working out in the mornings. I don't want to go much higher than this, but we'll see.

    I’m tracking carefully & attending to my wt trends. Every time I get a deficit, I’m hungry - eat something- and I’m at my maintenance calories. Slowly very slowly I will bring this down.

    Reflection: Up to 78kg last week, though I might be on my way down now. I put this down to the change of diet and exercise while I was away, but I am also eating too much chocolate adn drinking too much wine. I'll aim to stay here (preferably around 77:5 kg) for the next few weeks adn then I'll be on my own for a bit because of work and can move back to losing for a few weeks and get to the lower end of my range.
