    click on the person name, then click on it again in the new window, then you can add from that point.

    Click the name of the friend you want to add. Click it again and look for this:

    Click the silhouette with the plus sign. Don’t bother to type a message. The person cannot receive messages from you until you’re actually friends. The message option is temporarily turned off.

    Click on the user name you want to add as a friend. Click again on their name. You’ll see a silhouette with a plus sign. Click on that to send the request with your name. Don’t bother typing a message. They can’t see any message sent before you are actually accepted as a friend. That’s a temporary fix to save us from Russian porn bot accounts.
