Food diary adding in exercise. Help!

All of a sudden, with no intentional change by me, my diary is adding exercise calories into my diary from my Samsung Watch. I would like to turn that off, but I've been through the app on my Samsung phone and on the web app and can't find it. I've deleted the entries, but then they reappear! Totally out of the blue!

I will unsync my watch! I just wish it was an option to not have that part sync. In fact for the last x years, it didn't! Same watch, same app. All of a sudden it's there.

I don't want to "eat back" calories from a slow walk at work! A lot of people don't eat all their calories back from exercise as I understand it.

    Thanks for the replies!

It may have started doing it due to an update on either your watch, or the MFP app. IDK I don't have anything synched to MFP just bc I don't want to get confused about any of it and would rather just manually enter everything if I'm logging something.

You don't have to. Even if MFP adds calories to your allowance, you're allowed to eat as you see fit instead. 😉

People don't eat back their exercises calories if:

    1. They are doing the TDEE method in which exercise is already included
    2. They don't understand how MFP works or
    3. They are making logging errors with their food and need to not eat exercise calories in order to balance that out.

    4. Or if, for other reasons than logging inaccuracy, they discover (after monitoring their weight for one or two months/menstrual cycles) they shouldn't eat back all of their calories to lose weight at the intended rate. This could be because the exercise calories are inflated, because their metabolism isn't statistically average, because their fitness tracker overestimates their calorie burn.

The opposite is also possible! Some people need to eat more than MFP/their tracker tells them to, because their metabolism is faster than average or their tracker underestimates their calorie burn.
