Senior Moment

I'll start. It's been cooling off in the mornings when I get to work, so yesterday I wore my jacket for the first time as it was in the 40's when I got to work. But I forgot I'd brought my jacket when I left work that afternoon, and the fact the temp was in the 80's did nothing to clue me in about having brought it in the morning.
The kicker: my wallet was in my jacket pocket. Still sitting untouched at my desk when I got to work this morning, but unavailable to buy milk yesterday when I got home from work. (Since it's a hour+ commute each way, it wasn't worth driving back to work again.)4 -
I don't remember.10

one time I left my debit card at the gas pump
I went back to the gas station and fortunately the clerk had it
he asks me what the name on the card is for verification and I totally blanked for a few seconds
I turn around (to refocus my mind) and people were in line behind me with their snacks and hot rod magazines just staring blankly at me. I went into a full blown panic. I had forgotten my own name!7 -
My pants. Luckily it was a Dunkin drivethru5

I've spent many moments searching for my glasses, and it never fails that they are always on my head! 🤓
You'd think by now that that would be the first place I look right? 🙃6 -
I have a traumatic brain injury so I forgot most things.5

I take selfies in my car0

Forgot to pay my gas bill last month.
Forgot to restock my antihistamine tablets, despite the fact that I've taken them daily for the last 35 years or so.0 -
putting away my groceries, a dozen things on my mind.. not really with it.
Couple hours later I need to duck down the shop for something I forgot.. no car keys.
Eventually found them in the fridge 🤔🤷♀️7 -
I call it PMS.
When I say I can’t think straight during this time I am not exaggerating, I get extremely dizzy, and foggy. I’ve walked out of the house with my leggings inside out and backwards.
The worst was when I got gas and drove off without paying, the cops came to my house. I didn’t get in trouble they just told me to go pay it.4 -
Recently my mind has been blacking out (not really but it feels like that). I was looking all over for the cap to something but it was already screwed on. 🤦🏻♀️ I was spooked by it actually.
At work I’ve just been really inaccurate lately. I’ll have thought I was thorough but then boom, tons of mistakes. 🤷🏻♀️1 -
I’m calling it COVID-brain. Seems like a lot of people are in a fog for the last 18 months or so.
Today I apparently tried to steal chocolate bars at the grocery store. The packaging on them is the same color as the grocery cart so I didn’t put them on the belt at checkout.
After everything else was rung up, bagged, and paid for, the checker said “uh…did you want those chocolate bars in your cart?”
Oops.2 -
Ok so I did this a while ago (and I was pregnant at the time and omg that effects your brain). I filled the back of my Ford Edge with groceries and left the hatch up!! Driving down the road then got to a stoplight and I thought wow that back glass is clear. The. I realized I left my hatch open 🤦🏻♀️ I had drove several miles like this but never lost a grocery bag.6

I have a really bad habit of pouring myself a cup of coffee to take with me in the car and then leaving it sitting on the kitchen counter.2

different type of senior moment, but I walked into an aisle at the dollar store and one of the associates was stocking and moved her cart when she saw me coming
I said "you're fine, sweetie"
then I was like, why did I call her sweetie
I'm getting old3 -
I've lost count the number of times I've had a moment with my alarm clock. Last night's version was turning my alarm on, but forgetting to set it for an earlier time. (Fortunately the dog whining to be let out woke me up only a half hour later than my intended time.)
Other notable alarm snafu's have included:
Setting time, but not turning on
Setting time for the PM rather than the AM
Losing track of what day of the week it is and neglecting the alarm completely
I'm the only person in my house who still uses an actual alarm clock rather than their cell phone (including my wife), so not sure if that makes me behind the times or prepared for the day when cell phone networks all die simultaneously but I'll still be on time (maybe, if I remember to set the alarm correctly)...3 -
This scared me a bit, enough to ask the Dr about it, apparently stress can do this and I had been under huge stress at the time. .
Driving along and it was getting late, I thought I should put on my headlights.. I was a total blank, couldn't for the life of me remember what to push or turn in my car to get them on. It didn't last long, seconds really.. but damn it rattled me.8 -

My sister and I could write a book on senior moments.
But I tell her it's because we're trying to jam pack everything into our brains that the likelihood something gets pushed out is 100%.3 -
I totally forgot my lock combination to my work locker I dialed for years. Thought it would come back to be eventually. It never did. Had to have it cut off to get my shoes out before I quit.3
-
Looking all over the house for keys that are in my pockets.4
-
I can't count the number of times I've called one of my kids by the name of one of my other kids. Fortunately I have NEVER called my wife by any other name. (One benefit of having never dated anybody before her, I guess. lol )4

Feeling upset but not remembering why you are feeling upset for a moment.1

Does it count as a senior moment if I set the alarm, then come back an hour later and, in the process of "setting" the alarm (having forgotten I set it prior), I end up UNsetting the alarm?4

Have never done that but in trying to turn on my camera, I kept hitting the off switch. Same thing with a new laptop. My dd was kind enough to set it all up for me, then moved 1800 miles away, after asking me 'so you're all set, right?' Sure, no problem, piece of cake I say. Easy peasy. Next morning I click the on button. Nothing so I keep hitting the on button. Can we say impatience is NOT a virtue??
I refuse to ever take an IQ test.4 -
Our local news weather forecaster called halloween "easter sunday". He's in his late sixties so guess he had a senior moment. haha1
