    Successes/struggles of the week: My weight was a bit higher again this week, though I did have a lot of days eating out (sushi, tacos, lots of pastries, and other meals out) so I was expecting the water retention. I did well with steps yesterday and today after going on long walks - over 18k steps yesterday and close to that today.

    Success of the week: Stuck with the program after a week of steady and significant weight increases and was glad to see the scale come back down in response.

    Struggle of the week: I really did not want to adjust my goals up, but for now that's what I'm doing. I can move them back down later if/when I am ready.

    I was away on holiday last week – 4 nights of hotel breakfasts and dinners, lunch sandwiches/snacks. I had dessert each night (actually two of them weren’t very nice so I didn’t finish them). So, I have a small weight spike now but back on track again this week.

    maintained (i.e. was below 77.5 kg, and mostly below 75 kg) from February 2015-July 2017; was then put on a medication and gained 2 kg in a month; went on sabbatical (away from scales; lots of conference meals); hit (peri-)menopause and lost track of things except to note that I was steadily gaining and back to 85/86 kg.
    Lost to 81 kg at Easter 2020 (top of normal bmi for me), but then gained back to 88 kg in April/May (Easter egg binge; lock down closed the pool...).

    Reflection: I need to face the fact that I am not maintaining at present, but gaining. Back to Scotland next weekend and I shall start logging again. What's odd is that I would have said that I was eating more while I was away this summer than I am now, but the food we had was mostly vegetarian and more bulk for fewer calories. I was also walking more, eating my evening meal earlier and getting more sleep.

    Success/Struggle: It was a better week than the week before as far as logging and exercise. My weight is up a little but not enough to panic. I have eaten over my calorie goal but trying to eat only when I am truly hungry or at meal times. We have workmen in our house for two days which is a challenge but because I do tend to eat due to stress and also it is hard to follow my meal plans when they are working in the kitchen. Acknowledging the issue helps. I'm glad I have the chance to think about it and write it here.

    I'm game to join this series of threads as I'm a sucker for statistics, lol. (Which makes it rather inexplicable why I haven't been tracking this the entire time, but better late than never.) I joined MFP back in 2009 at a weight of 220, not obese but definitely out of shape. Between MFP tracking of my diet, plus joining a gym up the road from my home, my next recorded weight of 200 was recorded in 2014. No clue how long it took to drop those 20 pounds as I wasn't recording weight at that time.

    Since then I've naturally varied, without consciously trying, between 195-200, with only occasional weight measurements a few times per year. This lasted until April of this year, when I began a noticeable slide in weight once more. I know I hiked up my weight lifting intensity slightly, plus tightened up my diet to include more protein on non-lifting days rather than have a roller-coaster of protein day to day. I also have started weighing every leg day (or roughly once per week) rather than when the whim strikes every couple months, so not sure yet if this variation will last or has repeated itself in the past but was never recorded. Only time will tell, I guess.

    Between work and kids' after school schedules, last week was a terrible one from a nutrition standpoint, with a single home cooked meal all week, and the rest take out. Between the calories and no doubt the higher sodium hanging onto the water I drink, no wonder my weight jumped as it did. But I have already done the grocery shopping for this coming week, so should be good to go to get back on track.

    Success/Struggle: I did not do well in following my plan. I missed a couple exercise times and missed several days of tracking. I didn't gain weight but I didn't eat as well as I could. Had some electrical work done inside our house for a couple days so there was stress for a couple of days before they came to get ready, then they were here, and then a couple days to get the house back to normal. I'm a creature of habit and was out of my comfort zone. 😊

    Successes/struggles of the week: Started the week out in the low 111's, but jumped up a few pounds by the end of the week with lots of high sodium restaurant food. It's been a busy week and I had to cut some of my workouts short, but I'm hoping that next week I'll be able to keep up with my workouts.

    Was away on holiday (again!) last week – hotel breakfasts and dinners (including desserts!) – so my weight has spiked again. But this is my maintenance, little ups and downs. I will be away again this week, but in my motorhome, so the food is more under my control. Then a couple of quiet weeks at home to recoup.

    Successes/struggles of the week:

    This was one of those "I'm hungry" weeks. While I was able to hold off until dinner most of the time, on Sunday watching football I gave in to my snack cravings with peanuts while watching the game. (Note: my dogs LOVE peanuts, but only if I shell them first...the mooching was real!)

    Biggest regret was not getting my final workout of the week, effectively skipping leg day. Life spent as a parental taxi to my kids' after-school-weekend activities left me insufficient time to get in a full workout, so I justified myself as not going at all. Shame on me, but I will do better this week.

    Success/Struggle: A couple weeks ago, I had electrical work done which stressed me out. Last week, I had the flu shot and it made me feel ill. That hadn't happened before. For some reason feeling ill makes me want to eat. It's like I think food will make me feel better. This week, we are getting a heat pump installed. More stress! I don't like strangers invading in my house. But this is life. I have to deal with it without over eating. Not planning on going outside of my goal range.
