Sugar Free or Low Carb suggestions, that is!

Can anyone recommend a mixer that is SF or low carb that I can buy in store?

What have you tried?

Did you like it or did it suck @ss?

Where did ya buy it from???

Thx in advance!

This may not be too much help, but they do have Skinny Girl margaritas. If you google it there is a ton of information on it. I have never tried them, but I have heard mixed reviews! I thought it may be something you hadn't heard of :)

I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but Jose Cuervo has a 100 calorie premixed margarita out now. I had those "skinny gorl" premixed, they are ok, I guess. I just mix lemon juice, lime juice, splenda and Jose myself.

    Just drink the tequila. That's what I do anyway....then again...I'm a lush!

Honestly, just do a few tequila shots & follow up with lightly flavored seltzer water chasers - less calories, sodium & you feel good: plus, with seltzer water you're also rehydrating what the alcohol is dehydrating.

One tip to always abide by when drinking: Drink at least 6-8 oz of plain water between shots/drinks so you keep hydrated, better buzz & no hangover/sickness. :drinker:

I don't do any sort of low carb or sugar free stuff, however I make a margarita that is heavy on the tequila and light on the triple sec, with a splash of lime juice. The caveat is you have to use a good quality tequila since you aren't masking cheap tequila with other flavors. Also, I hate those sickeningly sweet "flavored" margaritas, so if that's what you are looking for, this won't do it for you.

    2 ounces of Patron Silver
    1/4 ounce of triple sec
    splash lime juice

    Serve over ice.

    164 calories
3 g carbs (all from the triple sec)

Generally I just drink the tequila straight and call it a day  However, sometimes I like to change it up!

I LOVE margaritas! They have a zero calorie Jose margarita mix. The one I got came with the mix and the bottle of tequila! It was pretty good!

Tequila over ice with lots of lime or one of my friends suggested trying diet squirt with tequila and said it tastes pretty darn close to an actual margarita :drinker:

I am not a fan of "dietizing" food and drink.

Work hard, earn the calories, and enjoy it as the maker intended!

:flowerforyou: I did see in the liquor store last time I was in there - Jose Quervo in a kit with a mixer - upon closer inspection - the mixer was CALORIE FREE!! So, pour yourself a drink - and count the alcohol :drinker:

Also, if I make a homemade margarita mixer - I use crystal light lemonade with fresh lime juice and a splash of orange powerade 0. Works out to be like 78 or so calories (one ounce booze plus mixer)

Either way, have fun - enjoy yourself!

I looooove margaritas made with Patron! But in the interest of cutting those bazillion calories, I tried a Skinny Bee 100 calorie margarita at Applebees. GACK!!!! I'd rather do 10 hours of extra cardio than drink another one of those! Weird aftertaste.

I've had what's referred to as a "dry" or "jamaican style" margarita where they mix it without any sour mix and/or syrup. It can be a bit tough on the tastebuds with all that lemon at first but they're pretty good.

Fresh lime juice. You can buy it in the produce section. It comes in little green balls.

Seriously, some tequila, fresh lime juice and crushed ice is all you need for a great margarita. If you like it a little sweeter add a slice of orange.

Walmart has their own version of Crystal Light & they have a lime margarita flavor, zero calories. I make that & add my own tequila!

FWIW I went to Food Lion last night and they sell their own brand of Magarita mix. It has 65 cal per packet though and you get 8 packets for $4.50.

I also went to the ABC store (liquor store in VA) last night and they do not have any of the Cuervo kits that include the 0 cal mixer and the tequila in one. They said that's pretty much a "summertime thing". Oh well.

I may try the 0 cal JC mix this weekend.
