No craziness here either. Just good old fashion eating right and exercise:bigsmile:
• LISA is our QOTD poster for today...PLEASE remember to post.

Ladies,

I want to encourage you to rejoin during round 6; however, if you are unable to make the 4-week committment you may want to sit the round out and regroup.

The Diamond Challenge is very good, but does require your DAILY participation! We are hoping to have Jamaica back as a leader of the Little Diamonds by the time the round starts; however, if she is not available we will have 3 groups in the challenge:

Diamonds In The Rough (DITR) - Leader, Jennifer
Shining Diamonds (SD) - Leader, Angie
Determined Diamonds (DD) - Leader, Brandie (the one and only balowry1 from the LD group)

If you would like to request a certain team or Leader, please feel free to add your request in the Comments section of the registration form. Also, I added a section for you to make suggestions that you feel would help improve the challenge or you can tell us what you feel is bringing the challenge down.

There have been some excellent suggestions made from some diamonds and I feel that several of them will be implemented.

As of right now, each group will consist of 30 members and 3 diamond colors that will be broken into 10 groups of 2 buddies.

What is the craziest thing you ever did to lose weight?

I dont' think I've ever done anything really nuts. Maybe south beach for 10 days, that sucked.

I'm excited for round 6! round 5 was a little stunted but we'll do better next time.

Is, by any chance, one of the suggestions implemented gonna be using percent of body fat loss instead of pounds. This is a good challenge but when you have a person who weighs 150lbs verses one that weighs 200lbs the heavier person is more likely to lose more pounds but not necessarily body fat. I get really discouraged when I see these 5 or 6lb losses because I know for my weight to lose that much in one week isen't healthy nor is there much chance that is will stay off.

QOTD Wednesday the 14th: What is the craziest thing you ever did to lose weight?

Good gosh - where do I begin??? I have been "dieting" pretty much continually for 30 years!

Diet pills - yup
Master Cleanse - yup
Slim Fast - yup
Cabbage Soup diet - yup
Carb blockers - yup
Atkins/South Beach/other diet books - yup

Even tried these things that smelled like vanilla, mint and....hmmm there was another scent. Apparently you were to sniff before eating to suppress appetite.

Also did weight watchers, but I don't consider that crazy...

The last couple years, I did understand that I didn't need anything stupid - just eat better and exercise. I knew logging my food was key. Found MFP this past March...and the rest is history!

I do keep up with the % loss and the pounds lost for my team (Shining Diamonds); however, I do not report it each week, but I will be posting the total pounds AND % lost to my team as the final report.

However, I will add your suggestion to the list

Good morning little Diamonds!

It's my turn today for the QOTD! We already had a lot of fitness related question during the last 4 weeks. So I decided to ask something different to get to know all of you better!

QOTD Friday
What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your free time?

For me it is: spending time with my boyfriend, family and friends, going to the cinema, reading, travelling and sports (windsurfing, skiing, mountainbiking)

Have a nice day everyone! Hope to see all of you in the next round!

Hobbies include reading, singing, playing music (flute and guitar) and crafting - mostly needlework but have dabbled in candlemaking and others in the past too.

Free time - do lots of music stuff, spend time with family, and as of tomorrow, will be spending lots of time with our high school marching band as they do their competitions to support my daughter and the rest of the group!

Go for walks with music playing
Wander around window shopping (kind of related to walking)
Video games (currently just WoW and torchlight and random js/flash games like pogo. Oh and Dance Central!)
Read fiction
Dance around
Hug my cat while he goes "noooooo no hugging noooooooo noooooo"
pick up my other cat and tuck him under my arm while he goes "yaaay someone's paying attention to me yaaaay"
MFP (I seriously spend a lot of time here...)
Coffee/go out to eat

QOTD: I like to camp, snowboard, walk/run, pretty much anything outdoors or with my family. I like to plan parties also but lately i've been slacking (my last party was at Chuck E Cheese). I didn't have to do any planing. Halloween is coming up though and my almost 12 year olds B-Day also so I will have to do something special for both of those.

Thank you Shinning Diamond for adding that suggestion to the list.

Where are we suppose to log our weight today? I posted last week with the link from our blog and was told my weight wasn't submitted. I'm at 154.8 this morning... down 1.8lbs

In my free time I like to rock climb, play tennis, hike, geocache, scuba dive, travel, and read. I'm also a fan of being a couch potato with my boyfriend watching movies or playing video games.
..how do you shake up your routine? What advice do you have to bust through a plateau? How do you keep your motivation up during these times?
I find myself in this same type of rut also... as far as trying to change my foods I like to go online to find new recipe ideas for the family to try. I like kraft.com they have a section for healthy living & we have a few favs... as far as working out I was doing just walking & then decided I needed to up my game so I started jogging & then I took it a step further & have now decided to join a zumba class with my sister in law & her daughter which was soo fun! Also I started p90x with a friend which is an intense workout...I find if u find others to workout with u r def more motivated to shake things up & its soo much more fun than doin it alone! I also recently walked a gorge in town with my aunt..it was very steep & 90% steps *what a workout* congrats to everyone on heir losses this week & can't wait for the next round!
