A fun online quiz.
What socioeconomic class do your food choices resemble?
Mine resemble food choices of the upper middle class according to this.
I have never been in any socioeconomic class higher than lower middle class. But I had college educated (but very poor) parents who encouraged adventurous eating, so that potentially skewed my results.

According to the quiz my food preferences do not correlate with any particular "class".
I'll eat almost anything. The only dish I said "no" to was meatloaf.3 -
Your food choices resemble those of the middle class (89.29%).

I didn't do the quiz due to time constraints but my food choices resemble those of the average 5 year old more than any particular class.
(Really they don't, I have more sense than that, but every now and then I have what I call Eat Like a Kid Day when I make very poor choices)9 -
I couldn't be tied down either but I would say lower middle class? All those hoity toity foods got a hard no.6
-
It's confused2
-
It said my food choices were upper class. I was surprised because I said no to things like caviar and oysters. I said no to a lot of foods, all the meat based ones actually.4
-
Mine said upper middle class.
i guess because i dont like chicken nuggets or frozen pizza? i also said no to oysters and steak tartar (tried it once and though i like my steak rare i do like it cooked at least a LITTLE lolol) i dont know LOL0 -
My food choices could not be tied to any one social class.# Mostly in lower middle class & middle class.# some in upper middle class & upper class. # very little in lower class. I will eat any low carb foods but I don't eat raw meat or raw fish. I don't eat junk foods because of carbs and sugar but I won't say no to a nice dessert or a healthy carb once in awhile.1
-
Off to take the quiz now but is there a section for the lazy class? That'd be me.
96.% middle class
There's not nearly enough chocolate in that test. And I've never had lobster mac n cheese but KNOW I'd love it.2 -
I don't think it is accurate for vegetarians because practically every item was meat based - mine said mostly lower class maybe because I said no to all the meat, raw fish and oysters and such, and yes to Mac & cheese and frozen pizza? My grocery purchases this week included organic gluten free oatmeal, chia seeds, toasted pumpkin seeds and smoked tofu and tempeh (all organic) and a cartload of fruit and veggies. If that's how "lower class" eats then I'm good with it.11

I don't think it was particularly accurate for anything, lol, it was a very silly quiz. I just did it out of total morbid curiosity of what it would say.6 -

Samesies.2 -
Yeah, it definitely seemed like it wouldn't work for vegetarians. I got upper middle.1
-
Your food choices could not be tied to any one social class. I eat most of it.0
-
Sooooo you're low rent if you like mac & cheese, but throw some lobster on that baby and you're both hoity AND toity!
Taking the whole thing with several grains of organically sourced hand-packaged sea salt.11 -
75% lower-middle class. I don't like anything fancy.0
-
Definitely agreeing with some of the complaints here. I got lower middle class, but I'm sure part of that is because I do love me some frozen pizza and fish sticks. But, also because a lot of the foods I assume were "high class" were foods I don't like, but not because they are too "fancy" for me. For example, sashimi...texturally I can't with big chunks of raw fish. But, I'll happily eat sushi. And, after taking meat science classes, I'm only eating that steak tartare if I can be very confident in where it came from, if not I'm getting the medium rare steak.0

Upper middle - I agree that the quiz doesn’t reflect the reasoning behind choices. For example foie gras is a hard no for me, but for ethical reasons, not culinary ones. My tastes probably are pretty much upper middle though. I clearly remember the first time I ever laid eyes on white bread, Bologna, and frozen peas, at a friend’s house at a sleepover. My mom’s idea of a snack for a child was half an avocado filled with feta cheese and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Going to college and grocery shopping for the first time and learning how much all that costs was an eye opener.4

There's a socioeconomic class for food choices?4

There's a socioeconomic class for food choices?
try shopping for a week on $20 for a family of 3 and with $200 for a family of 3 and see what options are there....especially as far as variety and range of foods go (you can certainly eat healthy on a limited budget. We did.)
been both places....
But that's a WHOLE other discussion.8 -

I agree completely with your point, but doesn't the quiz ask what you would LIKE to eat vs. what you ACTUALLY eat? It's conceivable that I could be living on hot dogs dreaming of lobster. It told me my preferences couldn't be put in a category because I scored about equally in all categories, but it didn't ask about one food group I eat the most - legumes. I wonder if they are low class because they're cheap or if all classes eat legumes so it isn't a good quiz q.5 -
As a vegan, I noticed that the quiz is biased towards meat choices.
Some would argue that the choice to be a vegan is pretty upper- upper-middle class, but since I don't eat steak tartare or oysters, I couldn't answer that I ate those things. There were no questions on iceberg lettuce versus radish microgreens :-)11 -

I was on the fence about the lobster mac & cheese. Mac & cheese? Hell yeah! But I don't think I've ever had lobster so not sure I'd like it and I kinda can hear them squealing when put in hot water from some show or something I saw?2 -
Middle class. Probably because I don't eat any fish or bivalves.1

i dont recall but i answered based on what i would LIKE.
after all, if i actually EAT mac and cheese with lobster, I'll stop breathing (severe allergy to shellfish) lol
but i remember how much i LOVED lobster, and im pretty sure i would be totally down with that..... if i could eat it. LOL3 -
Interesting that in the 19th century, lobster was fed to slaves and prisoners because it was cheap and abundant.
I suppose they didn’t get the little bowl of drawn butter with it, though.10 -
Middle, lower, lower middle.
Not ashamed I like mac n cheese, chicken nuggets and burgers. Lol2 -

Ha…when I was in high school, my boyfriend and I were mostly broke. For a special date, we would go to Red Lobster and order the popcorn shrimp (cheapest thing on the menu). We’d always tip, though.4 -
Lower class, but that's mainly because I dislike meat and seafood. The more meat-like something is, the more I dislike it. It has to be processed to all hell or smothered to the point where the taste doesn't stand out for me to even attempt to eat it. The higher the class the higher the quality of the meat and the more meat-like it tastes so I strongly disagreed with higher quality meat but was slightly more open to lower quality. Most dishes had some sort of meat, so I didn't have many choices. I did strongly agree to all sweets, though, including the fancy sweets and edible gold ice cream and I agreed to some dishes I eat modified (it's not beef stew if you don't eat the meat now, is it).1
