Height: 5'10"
Age: 26
SW: 246.9 (07/13/2021)
CW: 219.9 (11/01/2021)
GW for November: 213.0
GW for 2021: 208.5
UGW: 172 by June 2022
11/1: 219.9
11/8: 218.1 (-1.8)
11/15:
11/22:
11/29:
Goals:
1. Get back on track with strength training and running. Haven't gone to the gym in weeks but have exercised through moving boxes, unpacking, walking the dog, etc.
2. Only go over my calorie budget on Thanksgiving.
3. Start incorporating yoga/flexibility into my workout routine
Notes:
Been bouncing around 218 for about 4 days. Dipped into the 217 range twice. That said, I think I can lose 5.1 pounds in the next three weeks. Got back into the gym today. My apartment gym is... underwhelming. My mile was a minute slower than the last time I tracked. Need to work on speed and strength. I'm considering joining a planet fitness and seeing if I can get a personal trainer, but I don't know when to set aside time to do that. My dog gets surgery on Wednesday, and I need to be with her while she recovers.6 -
@goal06082021 I totally missed your pumpkin video but went back and found it. Way to go! You really crushed it (pun intended)!!!!!🎃1

Hi everyone! I'm a little late today in getting in my weigh-in because work was absolutely bananas today.
SW (7/23): 300
11/1: 277.5
11/8: 277.6
GW for November: 271 - 274
I'm really annoyed at the scale, especially since I got down under 277 in the middle of the week before shooting back up. It's that time of the month, so some bloating and retention is to be expected. It's my first week over week gain since I started at the end of July.
Oh well! I know it's not real weight. I just hate dropping and then immediately yo-yoing back up 2 - 3 pounds every week. Even though the overall trend is definitely down, it can be discouraging.

Been round and round the weight loss merry-go-round for decades. I did really well on WW and MediFast and was nearly down to my goal weight a few years ago, but lost my way and regained some weight, but was still not in bad shape. Then the pandemic hit and with the lock-down and cessation of normal activities, I gained 50 (FIFTY!!!) pounds! So, here's my starting stats and my goals:
Age: 64 (almost 65)
Height: 5'8"10/
SW: 240 (10/17/2021) (My highest weight was 250 around 2004 and I absolutely do NOT want to go back there!)
CW: 236 (11/07/2021)
GW: 140ish
Weekly goal: 1 pound
My weigh in days are Sundays.
So far I have been recording everything I've eaten and have ever so slightly picked up my activities. It's hard for me to change my eating habits very much to be more healthy, as I have for years limited sugar, red meat, caffeine, white bread/potatoes/rice, bad fats, and sodium. BUT ... I gained some bad habits during the lockdown that I'm having to undo - pizza for lunch every day (WOW on the sodium, carbs, and fat!), snacks, and convenience foods (so I didn't have to go to the store). I'm doing the 1600 kCal/day plan right now. I adjust and start to lose weight, I'll drop that down to closer to 1200. I'm struggling with the sodium portion, though, as the meats that I have selected as low cal/low fat seem to be off the charts in sodium.6 -
Aloha! Thank you for all the well wishes!
I have gotten over 8000 steps yesterday and today, which beats the ** out of my 6000 high 😁
Changed my calorie target to maintenance and hope to keep under enough to lose something while here, but having a marvelous time. I am here with my darling daughter and she really really needs the break. I am logging food daily into my MFP diary so will pop in from time to time but no weigh ins until I am home. Scary.😳
To all those frustrated by the 😈 ⚖ - keep going! This is not a quick fix but you will prevail if you just keep going!! 🤗9 -
@Ladybug8882021 I am so jelly of you right now! Enjoy your trip!4

@Ladybug8882021 - I'm so jealous! Have a great time!
Well, the scale was back down this AM to 276.2. I knew yesterday's weigh-in was a fluke and I tried really hard to not let it get me down.
Hope everyone has a great day!5 -
Good Day Ladies!
This is my first post.
CW = 214 lbs
GW = I'd say 130 lb to 150 lb. For me I need to have a certain level of fitness/health.
November goals:
--Water Intake!!! Goal is 100 oz a day.
--Getting back into the habit of logging my food for the day.
--Walk my dog for at least 30 minutes a day. This is usually about a mile walk because sniff stops. She needs more than that, but once we get the 30 min daily set, we can add more.
--Attending the gym. I decided I need to go minimum 20 days out of the month at least to justify the cost.
--Stretching Daily.
--Dance to heal some of my inner trauma.
--Fall color hike with my pup.
--End of the month goal weight 210 lb.

I had a pretty unmotivated weekend. My mom asked me to go through pictures of my grandfather who passed away in April and it opened up the emotional floodgate. Grief truly does come in waves. I didn't feel like doing ANYTHING.
My hubby smoked some pork chops and chicken quarters for dinners so I just had to come up with lunches for myself. And I had neither the energy to put together something that made sense or do anything to up the calories I could eat (like walking on the treadmill) so I could have comfort food (since the dinners were cal high already).
So one lunch I ended up eating popcorn with chili seasoning on it and an entire cucumber. Survival mode
I am really proud that I did not go down my usual route of dealing with these funks- drinking and binge eating. I stayed to my calories! I'm learning to manage without those vices!
And I was rewarded when the scale moved today after being at a plateau!10 -
@danikat15 well done handling a stressful situation!
I think I'm doing okay with my own stressful situation, staying within budget so far today. Hubs is about halfway through the procedure as i write this, two hours in and two to go. Once he was taken back this morning, while it was still cooler out, MIL and i went for a walk around a park across the street from the hospital to kill some time and move a little bit. I might go back out for another lap, tbh, or just wander the parking lot (the hospital is part of a huge complex). The hospital has a two-visitor-per-patient policy, and since there are 3 of us (me and his parents), we've been basically taking it in shifts in the waiting room, with two of us up there and one down in the cafeteria or sitting in the car. FIL took first watch, as it were, while MIL and i went to the park.6 -
@Ladybug8882021
The picture is gorgeous! Where are you staying? Do they have a gym? Most gyms have a scale somewhere on the property. Maybe off a bit compared to your home one but could help keep you on track with maintenance.3 -
@justanotherloser007
Well I lied to you awhile back. I said I had no intention of increasing my Elliptical time above the 150 minutes, I was doing. I have increased a bit to hit a certain mileage or watch the end of a movie. Well, I went up to 200 minutes and today did 210 minutes (3.5 hours) to hit that number and wanted the 15 miles, which actually amounted to 15.25 miles. I do this straight through. Pretty much first thing in the AM and don't eat anything till afterwards. Figure I makeup for my work days when I don't have time to deliberately exercise. Since I'm a nurse, I do get steps in but not usually 10,000. The nature of a Dialysis RN in a hospital.
Also finally got under the 180 lbs. 179.2 lbs today! Over 75 lbs now!7 -
48 yo 5’3” 6/2013 SW 277 CW 184!!
November goal - lose 3 lbs
11/1 184
11/8 182 - I upped my daily walk, and I have seen the difference 1.5 miles makes a day...
11/15
11/22
11/29
Use true grit, dig deep and pray for the virtue of mortification!
My non-scale goals:
🦃 Walk 3 miles every single day - for a week it has been 3.5 miles daily, but I would like to plan for 3 (up from 2 miles daily last month!!)
🦃 Concentrate on food as nutrition or as medicine
🦃 Declutter kitchen/garage, I don't even care which at this point - things need to get sorted!!
🦃 Be patient! and remember that increments are where it is at - every little bit really does count
🦃 Be grateful and give thanks every single day, more than once a day!
🦃 Remember: Total loss of 95 lbs!! 52 lbs till goal weight of 130 lbs!! IF I stay on track by Christmas 2022, I would be goal weight!
@SammiGirl1321 Thank you so much for the super cute beautiful pictures!!
@goal06082021 “Motivation is the reward not the impetus” So true!!! Also, I am praying for your hubby. (((hugs)))
@jeepkat1 Onederland!!! Congratulations!! You are doing great!!
@Ladybug8882021 Wow, that is so beautiful!! Thank you for sharing, have a wonderful time with your daughter!
@swimmom_1 Grats!!! Wow, you are really going the distance!! So you did farther than a half-marathon which is 13.1 miles!! A full marathon is 26.2 miles!! Oh ho!! Winner winner chicken dinner, you have done a half marathon for a weekly workout!! Consider it, you may be a marathoner with a little more time!!! Imagine, you could have one of those oval stickers on your car that says 26.2 - that could be YOU!!!

@justanotherloser007
Yeah, didn't think about it being a half marathon, just the 15 compared to 10, 12, etc. There is no way I could do that outside. The thing about the elliptical is no pounding, jarring on my knee joints! Easier for me at least.
CONGRATULATIONS on hitting 95 lbs lost! 100 is just around the corner! I just hit 75+ and so looking forward to the Big 100!!!!3 -
Hubs made it through surgery OK, the surgeon is really pleased with how it went. They got all of it, with no damage to the nerves. He's pretty sore, which is to be expected; they gave him some long-acting super-strong painkillers that should get him through the first 72 hours. They're keeping him in ICU tonight for observation and will move him to a longer-term room tomorrow, and they're fitting him with a back brace as well. Hopefully he's released to come home by the weekend, but that will depend on him. Surgeon said he'll need the brace for 4-6 weeks, should take about 6-8 weeks to fully heal. I hope we're able to get him up the stairs and into our apartment - I know he'd prefer to be up here with me and the cats (and all his media entertainment options), rather than sleeping in his sister's childhood bedroom and having to call/text me or his parents to bring him food and stuff.10
-
@goal06082021
Glad to hear the good outcome. Make sure you ask for therapy to work with him before he leaves the hospital. They should work with him/you anyway. Let the PT know how many steps you have to get up to your apartment so they can work to that goal, prior to discharge.5 -
My doctor wanted me to ride a stationary bike several times a week to strengthen my torn Achilles. So, today I joined Silver Sneakers and the local YMCA (less than a mile away, so NO excuses!). I went this evening and did 35 minutes on the bicycle. Not earth shattering, but a good start after several years of NO workouts! Hard to believe that just 5 years ago I was working out 6 days a week for 60-90 minutes at the gym, THEN playing hockey and ice skating at least 4 other times each week. How did I let myself go SO badly???7

Just the short version today. Counting calories is working and I'm so thankful for that. My right knee is really bad, I will message my doctor tomorrow and see what he recommends. The Voltaren Gel is helping just not all that much. It's time to do something else.
I'm so happy, and I am inspired by many of you to keep on track. But mostly I don't want to cheat myself, I do feel like it at times, but I suck it up and don't do it. I'm seeing the rewards of reining myself in vs the quick give me comfort food fix.
@goal06082021 I'm so happy that your husbands surgery was successful and I'm hoping for a speedy recover time.5 -
@goal06082021 - I'm so glad to hear your husband made it through surgery successfully. Here's hoping for a quick recovery!4
