Hello all! I've got a whopping 60 pounds to lose and feel that I need all the accountability I can get. I started a new workout and nutrition program 5 weeks ago and am having some real success but realize that I need to track my calories if I have ANY CHANCE of actually losing 60 pounds. Today I finally got on the scale and I am at 210 which is a ton on my 5'6" frame. For exercise I am alternating Cycling on the road with circuit training using TRX, Kettlebells and Dumbbells. I do 3 rounds of 4 to 5 exercises. 35 seconds on and 20 seconds rest. It's not super intense but I feel that I need to build foundation as well as a workout habit doing fairly easy workouts. As I gain fitness my workouts will naturally get longer and more intense. My goal is to do this for the LONG TERM. I am in no rush to reach my goal. It took me 13 years to gain this weight so it's not going to come off overnight.
In my past "life" I was a Personal Trainer as a profession and a passionate mountain bike racer and rock climber who weighed around 155. Then a divorce and move from Colorado to Pennsylvania set me on the road to becoming totally sedentary and generally frustrated and disillusioned with life. But enough is enough and I need to get back in shape for myself as well as my children who are old enough now that I am having trouble keeping up! Look for lots of progress posts from me and GOOD LUCK to everyone else on this fitness journey!

Hi, TJ, and welcome (back?)!
It sounds like you have a good plan, and background knowledge that should help you. I'm betting that will add up to success.
Sixty pounds should be very doable, with your plan and background.
I'm a long-time MFP-er, here to maintain a healthy weight after losing 50+ pounds around 6 years back . . . just wanted to stop by your post and say "welcome".
Wishing you an excellent long-term outcome!1 -
