Just a reminder that the Concept2 Holiday Challenge starts tomorrow. It's a great excuse to spend some extra time on your rower getting fitter and raising money for worthwhile causes. My goal for this year is to hit at least 200,000 m. Feel free to log your progress here!

Planning to participate at the 200k level unless a physical issue prevents (not expecting any! 😉). This year, I have an BikeErg as well as a RowErg, so I'll probably mix it up a bit for variety. Still OK to participate here?0

You bet! I've been eyeballing a SkiErg for a couple of years (just don'y know where I'd put it) so anyone using one of those is welcome too!1 -
Hoping for at least 100K this year.2

Should row exactly 210km during the challenge period. Did the 1st 10km today.2

I'd normally be up for it but had a positive Covid test yesterday and feeling pretty miserable at the moment. I'm hoping to get in some after next week. I don't see doing 200K at this point but I was dramatically inceasing meters until I came down sick (incrementally). Was back at 70K or so a week.5

Rest day tomorrow.1 -
I took 10 days off from working out. Though double vaccinated, Covid is no joke. Was feeling pretty awful for around five days. Never a fever, though.
Back at it today at lunch. Been feeling better so I did 8000 meters (8013). Will try to get 100K in at a minimum. With missing 10 days of the challenge, won't get to 200K but I can make a go at 100K for sure. Super slow paced.
Most importantly, my HR stayed down and my chest congestion actually seems better. It was just a tad now (coughed my fool head off over Friday and Saturday). Breathing was fine during the row.4 -

Back at it after a day off: 8,218m on the rowing machine, 82,116 meters cumulative. On schedule.
Glad you're doing better, @MikePfirrman: I'd wondered how things were going with your Covid breakthrough, glad to hear it hasn't been unduly severe.2 -

Glad you're feeling better.
I'm triple vax'd for C19 (2 shots of Moderna and a Moderna booster) and also got the high dose flu shot for seniors for the year.
Not at much risk of catching C19 (for a variety of reasons that I won't go into here) but I've still been getting myself PCR lab tested monthly since June 2020 because it's free/easy and reassuring.
Even got a blood test for C19 antibodies done back in Apr 2020 because I was in China in Oct 2019 and wanted to make sure I didn't catch it there, even though I was never sick.
The tests have always been negative and I want to keep it that way.
As for rowing, "slow and steady" is my motto. I'm way past going for the lowest times and fastest speeds. I use to row 10km per day for 70km per week but was getting burned out doing that.
I currently row at a rate of 50km per week, which I usually do at a rate of 10km per day for 5 days per week with 2 days off each week. So, there's no point of posting my daily results.
I'm up to 70km for the challenge so far, will be up to 110km by the end of the week and will hit 210km by the end of the challenge on 12/24.
To date, I have rowed 1,560,000 meters for the C2 log year (which began on May 1, 2021 and ends on April 30, 2022) and 8,810,000 meters lifetime (since Sep 2016 when I started rowing).
I should finish the C2 log year by rowing a total of 2,600,000 meters (9,850,000 meterslifetime) and I look forward to reaching the "milestone" of 10 MILLION meters rowed by the end of July 2022.3 -
10K today, so 18,013 not cumulative.
That's great Sgt. I hit 10M early in the year this year but I've been at it a while longer. Probably more like 15M because I rowed in the gym for four or five years before I even started tracking it.
@SomeMFPuser -- I think you might hit 3 million this season at the rate you're going!1 -
Dec. 7: 16,491 meters BikeErg, counts as 8,246 challenge meters. 90,362 meters cumulative.1
