I am new to fitness pal and was referred by one of my water aerobics classmates. I have seen her wonderful results and thought I would give it a try. Over the last few months I have lost several inches as a result of exercise, but no weight whatsoever. I discussed this with my doctor and our class and the consensus is that although I am eating very healthy, I am probably not eating enough calories; and that muscle weighs more than fat. I am in my early 50's with multiple disabilities and my whole goal is centered around being as fit and trim as possible and thus slowing the progression of the disease which threatens to put me in a wheelchair. I sincerely hope that I will add weight loss to my inches lost and have an overall improved quality of life.

Basically I would still chalk this up as a great success so far! Inches are what most people aspire for, weight comes along with that usually. In your case you are building muscle first- so way to go!0

Good luck!!! I hope you do great! I have lost 30 lbs so far using this tool. At first I was having the same problem, where the scale was not moving but the clothes were getting looser. This has helped me keep track of a healthy balanced way of eating. I have tried WWatchers and found that this is way more helpful to keep a balanced diet.0
