I've got three! The first one is that I visited my endocrinologist yesterday for my diabetes, and all of my numbers were looking great. I'm very happy about that.
The second one is that I also managed to have the "portion size" of a chocolate bar - instead of eating the whole thing. Adjusting to actual portion sizes has been one of the trickier things for me with certain foods. Like I don't feel deprived if I eat the correct portion of oatmeal, but my brain just insists that the portion size of a chocolate bar should be *the bar*. Just for moral reasons. :P (I'm pretty sure the people out there who decide that a portion size is like 2 grains of rice or something are actually demons sent here to torment the rest of us.)
The third one is a bit of a scale one, but I also just realized that I'm more than half-way done with losing the amount of weight I originally wanted to lose. I say originally just because the plan is to reassess if I want to lose more once I get there.
All in all, life is good!22 -
After running six 5K's through the Summer, I attempted my first 5-Mile run. I went out very conservative to insure I made it. I ended up running it in 52:36 which was under my 55:00 goal!
Next I start training for a 10K in the Spring!21 -
I have been the person who never felt full but oftentimes felt emotional hunger. I used to eat because it felt like I was doing something and gave a small hit of pleasure. After 20 months of weighing and logging food, I know when I am physically hungry or full. I find myself less likely to overeat to avoid the overstuffed feeling. There has been much less emotional eating but it is still a work in progress.21

2 things:
1) Earlier, I noticed my stomach getting smaller ; also starting to see stretch marks, woo-hoo! (though I will have them laser'd when I reach goal )
2) Did 3 hours of aerobics today...plan was to do 2 hours, as I've done a few times this month, but then had the time and decided to keep going and ended up a third hour ...just because I felt good, and I wanted to do some aerobics with weights, which I hadn't gotten to during the first 2 hours.11 -
We got new uniforms in work yesterday, I optimistically ordered a smaller size but ended up needing 2 sizes up from that. It was a little disheartening but we could all tell the sizes were messed up.
My NSV was me trying on the 2 sizes up, and even though it's a little snug against the belly, I caught myself thinking 'I'll keep it because in 3+ months it's going to start being big on me'
Rather than getting a bigger one in case I put weight on, that was me knowing that I'm going to lose more weight! Me knowing that my method is so sure and that I have such confidence in it and myself that I keep the uniform that's a little snug because it will fit soon.24 -

Ha! I quite agree.6 -
A Marine (judging from the T-shirt and buzz cut) pulled my trainer aside and told her I was doing great on overhead press.
He didn’t want to tell me himself, lol.
I thought getting an honest compliment from a real live Marine was just the best!19 -
My NSV is that I try not to eat even a gummie vitamin with 15 calories to save the calories. I’ll take the pill with no calories. I’ll stop eating even a small amount of calories just to save the calories. Every little bit helps.11

I went to the Lion King last night. It was the first time I was comfortable in my seat. I wasn't trying to shrink myself down the whole time and actually fit in my seat with my arms on the arm rests. And to know that it only gets better from here...so happy.24

Yesterday at the gym I was able to hang from the pull-up bar and do eight knee crunches. I'm working up to three sets of ten. I'm nowhere near being able to do an actual pull-up, but maybe someday. After all, when I began this journey, I couldn't hang at all, much less do knee crunches.24

Hit 500 miles of swimming in 2021 today!19

My NSV today is that I did my hair color tonight after hours of not doing it. I made myself do it and I got it done. Now I don’t want to eat! I feel accomplished tonight. It’s a good feeling.8

I agree 100% - every calorie saved helps. I've managed to lose 119 since March 1st thinking this same way!10 -
I took my own snacks to work Christmas bowling party last night. They had pizza, french fries and was to have Keto friendly UNBREADED chicken but had Breaded chicken nuggets. I'm glad I had my hard boiled egg, colby jack string cheese and pecans in my purse to go with water!24

I'm finally going to the gym regularly again. First moving, then travel, then pet health issues. By the time I went jogging again, I realized my feet had shrunk half a size and running in my old, worn out shoes was uncomfortable. Bought new running shoes, but pet had more health issues (she's ok, but it's a reoccurring issue). After over two months of barely any running, I'm only about 20 seconds slower than I was before. I can totally make up that difference!20

I've been doing maintenance for the last two months with pretty good results overall. But this week I went up a pound and couldn't figure out why. I waited and did all the usual things, but the pound remained. So today I pulled out the measuring tape. The waist/hips areas are smaller than they've ever been while the muscle spots (arms, thighs) are bigger. Woohoo! I've been lifting heavier weights at the gym, so I guess this recomping thing is actually starting to work!! To be honest, I really didn't expect it to. Guess I need to measure more often until I figure out what my permanent goal weight wants to be. I understand losing, but recomping still seems like voodoo. Nonetheless, it's definitely an NSV to see the inches continue to fall off when I'm no longer eating at deficit.23

I love all your posts. They are really encouraging.
I've lost less than 10 pounds but I've already been able to cut my blood pressure medicine in half. I'm also keeping my sugar levels in the normal range.
Keep up the good work everyone. I know this is a hard time of the year, so many temptations.24 -
I no longer say "OOF" when I pick up my rather large dog. He's lost weight too and is in the perfect range for a lab!
Plus I'm getting stronger, but don't tell him that!20 -
One more - a friend who is normally very responsive didn't return a text until the next day. I didn't automatically think I'd done something wrong and he was about to cut me off and leave. Massive overreaction, I know, but something the heavier me did all the time. Turns out he had a bad day. I feel great that my anxious self didn't freak out and gave them some space to breathe and talk to me when he was ready.
Even though I'm a lot more confident, everything doesn't revolve around me now!21
