That made me smile. Good for you!

All of my business clothes are way too large now. Made the step of contacting the career counselor at my alma mater to see if there is a way I can donate my suits to any current students need any clothes for interviews.22

Able to jump up with both feet at the same time onto my step aerobic platform. Before the left leg (with a rod & two screws in it) would always lag behind my right leg. My legs are getting stronger.22

I'm working on my Everything Journal for 2022 which includes goal setting. Every year, I list lose weight and exercise more. This year, for the first time in countless years, my goal is to get to my maintenance weight and to add weight-lifting to an already fabulous exercise routine. 2021 is the year I started actively moving towards improved health. Woohoo!!23

While I've been doing a 16/8 intermittent fasting Monday through Friday for about six months now I've added a 23 hour fast on Wednesday's. It's all about the autoghagy! It's really been a challenge with all the Christmas treats flooding the office!9

I have not shopped outside of my house since I started my journey in March. I basically "shopped" the larger clothes to smaller dress clothes, right in my own closet..... ..Today, I needed dress pants and I had none small enough!16 -

Lol. I may end up "shopping" in my sister's closest when I visit over the holidays. Won't help with pants (I'm taller) but there may be a dress or two I can snag!

I can't wait to shop my own closet! I'm wearing 10's soon to be in 8's. I've got 0-8's available. Need to get down a bit more yet. Almost all of the 8's are mainly summer weight pants and today is the first day of winter in the US!

My nsv is getting back into it. I've had a "minor depression" for a few weeks and I just could not. I did weight myself still but wasn't fully maintaining.
Now that it's gone I'm back into logging. Since going back into logging I've been losing again. I'm very very happy about feeling better mentally but also very excited to get back in the saddle and lose more.17 -
This is a bit of a mindset victory more than anything else, but I thought other folks might find it helpful too.
The weight I've been losing can be seen in various parts of my body, but it hasn't had much of an impact yet on my belly (which I know is pretty normal). I've been sort of mildly sad about it, but today I thought "well, if I could just shift the fat in my belly to some place else on my body, where would I put it?" I realized then that I'd be sadder if I had to have it around my neck or even jigglier arms or really any where else on my body - and that I actually prefer it to be my belly. I'll still be happy when I do lose enough weight to shrink my belly too, but now I'm OK with that being the last thing to go.26 -

That is genuinely such a good way of thinking. I think we all often get into that mindset of focussing on our bellies, but I know I'll be trying to remember this from now on!

I really wanted a splurge today, so I went and got a Whopper with Cheese for lunch. But I didn't get fries or onion rings, and I did adjust a bit to fit it into my calorie plan for the day. I know what I'm eating for dinner, and I'm getting my steps, so I won't go over!
I can make good choices so I can still enjoy the foods I love!16 -
When I got out of the shower I was able to balance and alternate between my left and right leg. While balancing I dried off the lifted leg. Something so simple yet amazing that me 5 10 15 years would not even think of attempting. 😝18

Will have to buy a belt to keep my jeans on!9

I put on my sports bra to get myself prepped for a workout in a bit, and for the first time in I don't even know how long… I didn't feel gross. I never thought that day would come. I took my before pics and I was depressed for days. I am finally starting to LIKE my body.
I totally understand, you being happy is the most important thing6 -
My NSV today was having a 'smooth' transition from downward-facing dog to low lunge during yoga practice today! That transition has always been really tough because of my belly and limited core strength, but today I pulled it off! I even had a moment where I realized I'd gone too far back on my mat, so I held myself up with my arms while I adjusted my legs to where they needed to be.14

Child's pose is SO much easier with less belly!12

Ohmigosh, YES! XD I was actually able to pull off child's pose 'properly' for the first time last week and it was amazing. At my highest weight, I didn't understand why it was a restful pose because I couldn't breathe all squished up like that. But now that I have less belly, I keep finding myself falling into it and just relaxing (especially early in the morning when I'm trying to talk myself into getting out of bed lol)9 -
Been searching for a pair of full 💯% cotton jeans to confirm if size I wear these days is not to far off. Most of the jeans you get these days have way to much elastine interwoven. Usually shop at Costco and stick with Levi’s which have about 2% elastine. So not men jeggings, but they definitely are a tiny bit forgiving. Well I managed to find a pair of BDG all cotton 32W/32L to go on and button up. Didn’t buy them since twice as much as a Costco pair and what gives with how short a supposedly 32L is. Apparently it’s a thing with their jeans. Felt a little like Hulk Smash mode 🤣, but nice to know at least I’m not cheating to much with the forgiving material in the Levi’s.13

My abs are looking better from when the lockdown started. I’m getting into shape and definitions are getting better 😊👍🏻12

Was scrolling through a dating website and realized I was swiping right on a lot more guys, especially ones who are fit and active. I think I'm not automatically rejecting guys before they can reject me. I'm still heavier than I want to be, but weight isn't the first thing people notice about me now. The comments on how tall I am have increased substantially again!16

Yesterday, I was chatting on the phone with an old friend and walking around the park when I decided to sit on one of the swings. I used to love swinging, but haven't been able to do it for years because the chains dug into my hips. So, imagine my surprise when I not only fit on the swing, but had some room to spare! I spent the rest of our conversation swinging and even took a cute picture to commemorate the moment ^_^17

Started running back in the Spring. Ran a 5K a month throughout the Summer. Ran my first official 5-mile race this Fall. Last week I ran my first 10K training run.
Looking forward to running my first official 10K in the Spring.
It's true, the more you run, the easier it gets!15 -

Oh no, not another puberty! 😆4 -
In November, I swam my first mile...1825 yards, in 1 hour and 20 minutes. I thought I'd challenge myself today to do it again. I swam 1800 yards in 1 hour and 12 minutes. I only started swimming laps in July and I'm thrilled with my progress. Slow and steady is paying off.17

This one will maybe be unpopular, but it's an NSV in my world:
Spending Christmas alone (pandemic, etc.), I decided I'd celebrate by planning, cooking, and eating whatever I wanted on Christmas Day, as much as I wanted, not worrying much about nutritional balance. (I've been in maintenance long enough to know that whatever I do in one very rare day has very little meaning in the big picture.)
I've proven myself, on occasional random days in maintenance, to be able to eat 4000-5000+ calories on the rare day, which is maybe 2-2.5 times TDEE.
Christmas day, I went ahead with my plan, noted down everything so I could post-log the recipes and such, but just cooked and ate happily. (Big portion of oven fried potatoes with a swimming pool of ketchup for breakfast, a crustless savory pumpkin/ricotta pie with herbs for lunch, black bean/queso fresco tamale casserole topped with avocado mash and Greek yogurt for supper, coffee with frothed milk with breakfast, red wine on the side for lunch/dinner.)
I was full and happy, by the end of the day.
Next day, added it up: I figure about 2,875 calories, so 800-ish over maintenance. I exceeded my protein goal (always good, for a vegetarian eating ad libitum without paying attention to it), of course exceeded carbs/fats. Got some good veggies in there, too, so pretty good micros and 39g fiber.
Better yet, I have leftovers of the ricotta/pumpkin pie (161 calories per 1/8 of big pie), and the tamale casserole (327 calories per 1/8 of good-sized casserole dish), and they'll freeze well for future meals. (I did eat >1 serving of each on Christmas Day! 😉)
I'm happy with this, all the way around.
I think that very often, the things I now want and eat tend to be lower in calories and more nutritious than they used to be, automatically, without even thinking about it: Seems like an NSV to me.36
