Time off from work this week and I have no real schedule... including logging onto my computer and posting JFT. Need to work on that. I'll catch up reading posts once I post my own.

JFT R 12/20 ~ Sticking with indoor workouts for now...
    1) Treadmill 3 mi
    2) Washed dishes / towels in laundry / another ta-da?
    3) Move hourly
    4) Leftovers for supper? / net calories zero / 14c water
    5) Time with hubby
    6) Unplug 9:00 / floss / retainers / Voltaren / no alarm on PTO day

    2021 Goals:
    1) Weight 150#
    2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
    3) Post weekly weigh-in on JFT for accountability. Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I peek occasionally other days. My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.
    4) Take measurements & log on MFP every month end ~ remember this year! ~ 1.31.21 ~ 2.28.21 ~ 4.3.21 ~ 4.30.21 not pretty ~ skipped 5.31.21 & 6.30.21 ~ 7.31.21 accountable ~ 9.1.21 horrible after vacation but recorded ~ 9.30.21 small improvements yay ~ 10.31.21 ~ 11.30.21 slightly better
    5) Exercise 5-6x per week (minimum 4x) ~ mostly walking but include weights/circuit & other x-training
    6) Participate in race or challenge events even if virtual ~ started MapMyWalk You Vs. Year 1021K on Jan. 1 / virtual 50 Mile Frenzy 11.27.20 - 1.15.21 (replaced Frenzy on the Fox for Jan. 2021) 50.37 miles 12.17.20 and completed 97.44 miles total / Tour de Northeast WI virtual challenge: cover distance from Oshkosh to Gills Rock (139 miles) 1.1.21 - 3.31.21 ~ completed distance on 3.21.21 / 30/45 Build to Bellin virtual challenge 30 min. activity for total of 1,350 min. in 45 days 3.1.21 - 4.15.21 = 146 out of 339 in 34:00:42 / Hope 2021 Face Mask virtual 5K (benefits No Kid Hungry) anytime 5.11.21 in 58:04 / 100 Miles in May virtual challenge ~ 134.68 miles would've been more if I hadn't sluffed off on dog walks one week / Bellin (virtual) 10K on 6.19.21 after thunderstorm in 1:45:49 ave. pace 17:02 per mile / Titletown Wellness Shoreline Challenge: virtual distance from Gills Rock to Pleasant Prairie (228 miles) as many times as possible 6.12.21 - 11.26.21 YAY finished with 460.08 = 2X medal / Packers 5K IN PERSON 7.24.21 48:36 ave. pace 15:39 / Bellin Women's Pink Pumpkin 5K IN PERSON 10.2.21 47:34 ave. pace 15:19 second half pace 14:48 / Run for the Hill of It (trail) 5K 10.9.21 in person 52:10 ave. pace 16:48 hill climb 1:44
    7) Be considerate and loving to hubby and have fun together ~ excellent goal last year that should be repeated
    8) Make efforts to keep in touch with parents, siblings and friends (most live in other towns or states) ~ had this goal in 2020 and how ironic
    9) Declutter bedroom, home office and basement ~ made good progress in 2020 & want to keep it up

Word for 2021: Gratitude ~ be mindful of & appreciate my many blessings

Not sure if someone already did this for Bex. It's her posts for the beginning of 2021.

    2021 SW: 158lbs
GW: 145lbs (and then see how I feel)

This year for me is going to be a year of taking care of my mental health and kicking depressions butt. I'm sick of feeling the way I do and I'm ready to fight it head on. I know I'll have days I feel hopeless and maybe it's just the New Year optimism giving me a boost today but I'm gonna take that boost and run with it.

It's also going to be the year I try hit my GW. Last year due to a rubbish situation i lost 30lbs due to stress. You might think that 30lbs sounds great but it's horrible to lose it in that way. However, whether good or bad I've lost 30lbs and if anything positive can come of it then I want to keep that 30lbs off and lose some more through pure effort.

I have two phrases for my year this year, one for my fitness goals and one for my mental health.

    MH- Change your perspective
FG- Just do it. <- I'm the ultimate procrastinator so I'm hoping Reading this I'll be reminded to stop moaning and just do what needs to be done. It's a simple quote, but sometimes simple works.

@PackerFanInGB - I have been having way too many snacky days and then for some incredibly stupid reason I decided to buy a large bag of chips tonight. I have been doing well at not buying any except for Sunday nights my 1 small bag but it’s been a crappy long week and I caved.

I keep forgetting about the calm app, I have it on my cable package. I do put the tv on one of the fireplaces or campfires and spend a few minutes of listening to that quite frequently in the evening after DH goes to bed.

@mytime6630 - I’ve been not sleeping well with you. Coughing is my issue. I hope your antibiotics work fast.

I went and looked up Bex’s goals too, should have grabbed my own. My weight is down from January 1st but not by much. I have so much more hope that this year will be healthier for me.
I want to be walking my 5K again by summer.

I received a text from my boss today who told me not to come back to work until Tuesday. I sure hope I’m feeling better by then. We are in Outbreak at work again, one staff has tested positive thankfully no residents yet.

I’m hoping to sleep some tonight. I am exhausted. Every time I lay down though the cough gets worse.

A bit about me: I’m retired and live on the Isle of Skye with my husband and a cat. I’m at a healthy weight and have never been overweight but did get close at one time. If I have to choose 2 courses from a menu, I’d go for starter and main, I’m not usually very interested in sweet things. My downfall is cheese and wine! I tend to post the same health goals each day - they don’t seem to have become a habit as they don’t happen unless I really think about them!

    Word for 2021: Optimistic

    Goals for 2021:
    Stay at a healthy weight
Sort through possessions and have a clear out
Keep a clean and tidy house
Go for walks with my husband
    Use my camera more

    Dear JFT friends,

Here’s my first post from 2021 and I’m not proud of my efforts in the second part of the year.

I think I’ve been missing from here since September. I’ve not been meeting my usual daily goals and I didn’t do well with my goals for the year either! We did manage to sell our old house and that involved a lot of decluttering but I now need to complete the unpacking at our house on Skye and get rid of duplicates. We’ve also had a new kitchen installed and I lost my routine. Not surprisingly, I weigh more than I did this time last year. The start of 2022 is as good a place as any for me to start again.

I started to look at posts from the period that I’ve been missing but there’s no way that I can catch up. It was good to see both familiar names and new ones. Your persistence in working towards your goals despite life’s challenges is inspiring and I know I benefit from this group.

    Today I will start small:

    Weigh
    Drink more water
Plan my menus and go shopping
    Think about goals for 2022

Wishing you all the best for 2022

    Hello everyone!

Just wanted to check in quickly and wish you all a happy new year!

I'm in France at the moment, enjoying lots of tasty food although I'm trying to eat it in moderation and not go too overboard. I'm coming back to the UK on Monday (assuming my covid test is clear) and the scale will tell me how successful I've been at that!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the festivities and that 2022 is a better year for all of us!

See you on the other side x

@ZizzyBumble I was absent off and on this year also, probably more absent than present! But it's nice to come back and see familiar faces and new faces and know that this group is still here to come "home" to! LOL Nice to see you! Glad to hear you sold your house!

@bookmeister86 France!!! Oh my goodness...I live vicariously through your travels you know. Happy New Year to you and your honey! Have a great safe and happy trip back to the UK!

@Snowflake1968 We must have ESP because I've been craving chips really bad over the past few days! I sometimes watch the Fireplace or camp fires also when I'm alone. It's so calming. We have Roku tv and I downloaded an app called ZenScapes (I think?) that has so many different videos you can play. My favorite one looks like we are sitting on a widow seat looking out a paned glass window inside a seaside cottage watching waves crash on the beach and with a lighthouse in the distance, while light rain hits the window. It is the most peaceful sight, sound and feeling I could ever have I think. I like to turn that one on while I read or knit... I think I missed my calling. I'm quite certain I was meant to live in a seaside cottage somewhere.

    Just for Thursday, 12/30/2021:
    • No BS 24H Plan & Assess 🟢
    • Drink 64 oz water before 6 pm 🔴
    • Journal 🟢
    • Marco Polo video to AG 🔴 Dang! I really need to get this done! I've been promising for two weeks now. Move to Friday!
    • Close activity rings on my watch 🟢
    • Use smaller plate, listen for hunger and stop at enough 🟢
    • Discovery worksheet if off-plan eats. None needed! No off-plan eats! Yay!
    • Sit on couch tonight versus my tv time 'eating' chair 🟡 Partial success. I didn't change chairs, but I also didn't eat last night.
    • Self-Care 30 minutes 🟢 Nails, plus I spent time downstairs in my den working on a quilt and decluttering.
    • 30 minutes downstairs in sewing room. Begin one of the twins' quilts or finish T's. 🟢
    • Evening Routine: Brush/floss, readings, gratitude journal, read until lights out at 11 pm 🟢 Lights out at 10:30 pm. #Winning!
    • Up with alarm in the morning 🟢 Up 20 minutes before the alarm this morning! Again....#Winning! LOL

Happy New Year's Eve everyone!!! My wish for all of us is to have a healthy, happy and fulfilling 2022!

Today, I am going to spend my 30 minutes of self-care time thinking of my 2022 Word-of-the-Year, as well as goals for next year--both weight goals, fitness goals and non-scale goals. I want to begin a new chapter in my life doing things I always wanted to do but didn't have time for because I was working. I can only do that by meeting goals and taking baby steps when necessary. I'm ready to put the last two years behind me and move forward with positivity instead of so much sadness, depression and fear.

Today is me and Tim's 21st Anniversary! We've been together since 1994, so it'll be a total of 28 years together in April--that's almost half of my life! Our romantic plans? Well...we are going to get Kentucky Fried Chicken to go and probably watch Netflix while we eat it. Hahaha! We got a nice gift certificate for River's Bend (really nice restaurant here in town) and another one for KFC for Christmas. Neither of us likes crowds, so we are going to save the River's Bend dinner for another day. Plus, we both like KFC and rarely eat it, so I'm actually really looking forward to it.

I'm guessing tomorrow we will be logging onto a new thread for 2022? I haven't gotten used to finding things with this updated Community page yet, so that should be fun! LOL! I used to be able to just click on my threads...

@cschmitz110515 I smiled when I saw your comment about not logging onto your computer when not working.... That has been the biggest obstacle with me getting on here since April of 2020!!!! I just never log on anymore, and the less I log onto a computer, the less I want to! Wait until you retire...you may find yourself distancing from technology like I have (and I worked in IT!!)

I'm not ending the year 2021 very good ... but hopefully the year 2022 will be off to a better start. On Dec 22 I had a cyst removed.. It wasn't even sore or anything, but hubby pushed me to have it removed. Its right under my bra strap.. so gets irrated a lot. So the doctor squeezed out the yucky stuff .. and I mean it is yuckly. The doctor put a bandaid on, and said it would heal.

Well, now I have a huge boil where the cyst was. It is so sore .. about the size now of a tennis ball. Bright red, very inflammed. I called the doctor yesterday, and he just prescribed antibiotics. I was wishing he would lance it. So the past 3 nites I have been unable to sleep.

Now on the antibiotics, they are upsetting my stomach big time... and.. I feel like I am getting a cold. Headache, runny nose. I just hope its not covid. Around here, getting tests are impossible, so since we don't go anywhere, I am going to wait.

Our daughter has been staying here since Dec 20 ... the doctor cut one of her meds. We had her put back on a smaller dose, but she did not like the way she felt .. very forgetful, etc. So we supported her getting back off them, as did the doctor. I don't know how long she will be staying here... but we are taking it one day at a time, and hoping this will help her adjust to less meds. Ha .. just hope this is not permanent!!

Yes, I will put up a new post later this afternoon for the year 2022. I will attach a link so hopefully it will be easy to find.

@bookmeister86 , @ZimbleBumble, @PackerFanInGB , and so many others that have rejoined you ... I am so happy to see you back here. We missed you all!

I also have not been so good getting on here. But I, like @PackerfaninGB, am going to make a list of my goals for 2022, with a promise to get on here more. It is the one thread that has helped me to not give up.

I will see you all on the other site!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful New Years Eve and New Year!

Tonite marks 48 years ago that I met my husband!! Yes .. .we met on a blind date on new Years Eve... 48 years ago. My friends were with me .. ha... I told the guy that was setting us up that the only way I would do it is if he found 2 more guys for my friends .. so 8 of us went out. The rest is history .. we will be married 44 years in April!!!!

    Oh.. my goals for today
    1. log all my food. We plan on having shrimp, pigs n blanket, and chex party mix tonite, and I am making beef manicotti for dinner ... so lunch will be light
    2. concentrate on water... I have always struggled with this.
    3. clean house
    4. lay down and rest some since only got about 3 hours of sleep last nite.

    @PackerFanInGB
It's so good to see you regularly posting again! :)
    And happy anniversary!!

And @mytime6630 for meeting your husband this night haha
Isn't that crazy that both of you are celebrating meeting/marrying your other halfs.

I also hope you start to feel better soon.
In a week's time my friend is having her gall bladder taken out via keyhole surgery.
We can't help around the house for her as she has to isolate after the op (I think her dad's coming to stay anyway) but we're taking her daughter to school and picking her up for her.
So fingers crossed her recovery is okay x

I'm sure there was more I wanted to say but it's just so must scrolling!

But happy new year to each and every one of you!!
Looking forward to setting some goals.

I'm not sure if I'm officially starting on the 5th though as kids are back in school then and I'll have time to focus. Plus I need some new batteries for kitchen and bathroom scales x

    Happy New Year everyone! (2021)

    Name: Bex
    Age: 28
    Height: 5'7"

    2020 SW: 185lbs

Okay well... Reading that post I've actually realised that I've come further than I thought mental health wise.
I still have my ups and downs but they seem more controlled. And the days where I completely lose it are few and far between.
I've come from having no friends and not being really able to speak to people or make any connections to having two REALLY good friends who understand me and know my struggles and I've reconnected recently with a long lost friend! (Although we always say it doesn't matter how long it's been, we can pick up the phone and carry on as if it's only been a few days!)

I've not done basically any consistent logging all year and maybe only the odd bit of exercise.
During school term I've been getting my 10k steps daily on weekdays due to the school run.
My current weight is around 165? So to only put on 7lbs with not even watching what I'm eating is pretty darn good I think!
(Although it might be a couple more pounds after Xmas and new year)

I honestly thought I was going to be appalled at my intentions last year but I'm actually surprised how well I've done.
I've tackled my mental health so I'm in a better place than I was and not gained too much!
I thought I was gonna laugh at all the false promises I made to myself but I'm actually pretty proud of myself.

    Here's to a new year!! 🍾

Hi all. I haven't been posting as I've been eating whatever I feel like, and not being careful at all. Very annoyed with myself, as it's many years since I've eaten so badly over the Xmas holidays. However, I am committed to doing much better in January.
Will have a read back now.

We have Roku tv and I downloaded an app called ZenScapes (I think?) that has so many different videos you can play. My favorite one looks like we are sitting on a window seat looking out a paned glass window inside a seaside cottage watching waves crash on the beach and with a lighthouse in the distance, while light rain hits the window. It is the most peaceful sight, sound and feeling I could ever have I think. I like to turn that one on while I read or knit... I think I missed my calling. I'm quite certain I was meant to live in a seaside cottage somewhere.

@PackerFanInGB you have just described my holiday let, except it's not a cottage but a top floor apartment, complete with comfy cushioned window seats to watch the view!
This is the beach in front of the apartment, lighthouse just out of shot...

Happy New Year everyone, see you on the new thread!
