    Have had the MFP app for a long time but don’t take the time to “use” it and this needs to change. Been very unhappy for years with the extra I cart around. Can’t figure out how to add friends!

    Go to the main menu and select “friends”:

    Now click the plus sign to add a friend:

    If adding via their MFP user name, select that option:

    Enter their user name. Don’t bother putting a message. MFP has totally blocked messages unless you are already friends. Anything you type here will go into the ether and never bee seen again. (Thanks, spambots. grrrrrrrr)

    Then click the check mark in the upper right corner to send the request, and wait for your requested friend to (probably, if they have any sense) verify that you’re a legit user by searching your user name on the boards, or (what I do) is accept, read their last few weeks posts and make sure there’s not a Russian url, Cyrillic text, or “my sports blog” (code for porn) in their feed. If there is, I immediately delete them, because it’s a hijacked account.
