January 2022 Planking and Isometric Exercise Challenge

Happy New Year!

This is the place for your planking and isometric resolutions for the new year.

If you are new to posting on this thread, or if you are new to planking and isometric exercises, we welcome you! If you are returning from a previous thread, we welcome you, too.

There are no set challenges - this is a mixed-ability / mixed-experience / everyone welcome group.

Just pick the target that you would like to achieve this month and post updates throughout the month as you work toward your target.

If you are new to planking it is a good idea to start with as little as 10 or 15 seconds and build up over time.

Here's a 30 Day Beginner Plank Challenge - builds to a 2 minute plank (total is 26 minutes and 55 seconds for the month, so 33 minutes and 5 seconds short of 60 minutes. Recommend doing multiples earlier in the program when they are shorter to get more minutes for 60):

Here's 30 Day Advanced Plank Workout - building to 5 minute planks (total is 53 minutes and 20 seconds for the month, so 6 minutes and 40 seconds short of 60 minutes unless you do multiples earlier in the program):

    Happy New year!

    My goal is at least 120 minutes planks, 120 minutes of other isometric exercises and 1200 weighted squats. Also, I will try to do more than 3 strength workouts in January 😊

    My goal is at least 120 minutes planks, 120 minutes of other isometric exercises and 1200 weighted squats. Also, I will try to do more than 3 strength workouts in January 😊

    Aiming for 100 mins of planks and 60 mins of other isometrics. Would like to finally be able to do 20 correct pushups in a row!

    I have been at it each day so far:

    1/1: 3:00 weighted wall sits and 6:00 planks
    1/2: 6:00 planks with MadFit
    1/3: 6:00 planks during low impact workout w Heather Robertson
    1/4: 10:00 leg isometrics w Caroline Girvan
    1/5: 4:00 planks (Tabata w Rachel Gulotta)
    1/6: 3:00 wall sit
    1/7: 5:00 planks, freestyle + 7:00 legs iso

    Total to date:
    Planks: 27:00
    Legs Isometrics: 23:00
    Pushups in a row: 10
