Organic "healthy" peanut butter?

Anyone have any tips for an all natural peanut butter that actually tastes like peanut butter? I've tried betternbutter and crazy something or other. Both were disgusting. My trainer wants me to make the move to clean eating but I need something I won't gag on. TIA

What's wrong with just plain peanut butter? It's not bettern anything or crazy. It's just peanuts, and sometimes salt too. Tastes just like peanut butter, because it is peanut butter.0

I have to watch my sodium.
I use Stop and Shop, Nature's Promise.
It is much better than Jiffy Low Sodium.0 -
Buy organic peanuts. Remove the shells. Pulverize in a food processor for a few minutes. Put in a jar in the fridge. Voila, organic, all-natural peanut butter.0

Whole Foods has great organic peanut butter!0

Jackie Warner wrote a good book that explains some science behind nutritional benefits of certain foods and exercise. One of the items of food she suggest eating EVERYDAY to get the GOOD FATS is half an avacado, OR peanut butter. I always have peanut butter with apples (only the suggested 2 Tbsp serving size though). I get the reduced fat peanut butter, but even though natural peanut butter may scare you because they have more calories, it actually contains the GOOD FAT and should be consumed every day (that or avocados, or whatever other items come in close second)

I eat Smart Balance creamy peanut butter. It has some sweetener but only like 3g. It's not JUST peanuts and oil but it's all natural. I love it. It tastes as good as "normal" peanut butter.0

I like Krema brand - it's just ground peanuts. Or, most health food stores sell peanut butter with nothing added except peanuts.0

totally adicted to it lol0

I go to Whole Foods or my local health food store and buy fresh ground peanuts. Nothing added and the peanuts are ground to order. Awesome!! :bigsmile:0

"Healthy" peanut butter: i.e. any peanut butter brand that has no salt or sugar added: i.e. real peanut butter. Can be found at any health food store or Trader Joe's, probably even in conventional grocery stores these days. Or, you can go to a health food store that sells fresh ground nut butters. They'll have machines with peanuts, almonds, walnuts, or whatever they carry, flip the switch, fresh ground nut butter without salt or sugar. It tastes much better than the stuff with all the additives.0

I buy Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter, but it does have salt, just no sugar or other sweetening agent. They make an organic one, too, but I can't remember if it has sugar added or not. If you decide to make your own, just be prepared for it to be a NOISY process! lol Unless you have one of those wonderfully quiet machines like the Barefoot Contessa uses. Peanuts being whizzed in a food processor are LOUD. My girls aren't real fond of the texture of natural pb, because it isn't quite as smooth as Jif, Peter Pan, etc., but I love it.0

I'm all about the unsalted organic creamy peanut butter at Trader Joe's. Also, I giggled thinking about you gagging on nut butter. That is all. :flowerforyou:0

Go to HEB and grind your peanut butter. My swim partner says it's the best! Well, if they have HEB near you! We eat Jiffy Natural. I think that's what it's called. It's pretty good. I'm going to go and grind some almonds and peanuts and try out the fresh kind though!0

I know some organic market (here is called new leaf market), where you buy almond or peanut and they freshly press them to make the butter in the store. No additive, nothing. I have never tried, but know a friend that do. she loves it0
