Ingredient in Search of a Recipe
Throughout the cold months, I love making oatmeal apple crisp. I substitute monkfruit for white sugar - although I still use a small amount of brown sugar for the 'crisp' part.
Anyway, I par-cook the apples with a little butter and apple pie spices before assembling the dessert - draining and reserving the liquid - which I freeze.
Any ideas what might be made with the liquid?

Brilliant! How did you know I just ran out of maple syrup last week?! I'll have to thicken it a bit, but it's worth a try. Thanks! All I could think of was maybe using it to replace some of the water in quick breads.1

Mix it in to oatmeal for breakfast? Your quickbread idea sounds good too-- zucchini or carrot, maybe?

I've never been a fan of fruit flavour in gravy, but that does sound tempting. I was hoping it could work in a yeast cinnamon raisin bread.0
