Welcome Melissa!
One of the funniest things about losing 50 lbs is I constantly catch myself feeling myself up. Like, oh my gosh... my collarbone has started to reemerge and I can´t stop running my fingers on it. Or rubbing my shoulder blade or ribs. Like, these bones used to be there and have been there the whole time. I just can feel them again and it feels amazing!6 -

So, I am currently alive - and I think I lost this week because I just got off of a 14 day period that was ultimately brutal. Hugs to all!! I haven't been here much, I am distracted. I will be back, assuming I survive the weirdness that is going on. If you know anything about this kind of poisoning, please message me. Hang in there ladies, we got this!! Carry on!!
Oh my goodness! Between the suspected poisoning, the 14-day period, and the lab only open 2 days/week - you're dealing with a LOT. Sending lots of positive vibes and prayers your way.2 -

Those damn Oompa Loompas!
This was me a few weeks ago when my scale literally did not move for days. It's hard to do everything right and not see the immediate product of that hard work. I get it.
Thank you! I'm a very results-oriented person in a results-oriented field. I'm very driven. So to have NOTHING happen (except GAINS instead of losses) sends me into a bit of a spiral.
On the plus side, it forced me to review some NSVs.3 -
AND I'M BACK! Water retention is no joke, y'all. Managed to take my puppy on two 25 minute walks today, which is great. One pound away from my goal for January, with one week to spare. I can do this!
Also decided to take a progress photo this morning, which is 6 months and a day since the first photo I took. While I noticed a huge difference overall, I am shocked at how different my face looks. It used to be so round.

I'm laughing because I did the same thing this morning, I'm like are those my ribs? Where have you been all this time? Hip bones, knees, and ankles. And yes, collar bones too!
I've lost almost 70 pounds, right now I'm just enjoying feeling smaller.6 -
Y'all, I felt so good about meal prepping yesterday. Then my coworker handed me the bag of Girl Scout cookies I forgot I ordered from his daughter. Self-control, girl. Self-control.5

It's been a week. I've never heard of thallium poisoning. How are you feeling by now? Have you gotten test results back yet? Hoping for the best possible result and some answers.

Lost 2.4 pounds this week! I am only 1.4 pounds away from onederland. This is the lowest weight I have been in years. Four years ago I was 190lbs, that's the last weight I can remember. It was before I met my boyfriend, who was a large contributor for me gaining so much weight over the years. I know it was all me, but he just snacked ALL THE TIME and it was so hard to enforce self control. Now that we are broken up and I am living on my own, I have so much more control over what I eat. I feel like I can really lose some weight this time around. I am maid of honour in October, and I might be going to hawaii in the summer so I need to get smaller.
I GOT THIS!!8 -
@ladychr0nic you're so close! I believe in you!!
@justanotherloser007 thallium poisoning???? How in the world? I hope you're feeling better!
@danikat15 and @FushiaKat - same hat. I find myself touching my legs a lot while I walk, they're just so firm and muscular LMAO. Collarbones and jawline too. I def check myself out in the mirror while e.g. washing my hands, brushing my teeth, etc etc. It's wild.
@kenziestabes solution: meal-prep your girl scout cookies. divide 'em into single-serve baggies and portion them out LMAO. Most of the varieties freeze pretty well, at least!3 -
@goal06082021 Way ahead of you, lol. My pantry is unreasonably tall, so much that I, a nearly 6 ft tall woman, need a step stool to reach the top shelf. Most of the cookies are hiding there. Current box is in the freezer and I pack a single serving with my lunch.2
-
What helps me with cookies is taking out just the serving size (or whatever calorie allowance I've given myself) and then reminding myself that there will still be cookies tomorrow, next month, next year. Don't eat them like it's the only time you'll ever have cookies in your life. That has allowed me to still enjoy Oreos and I've always felt satisfied after the 3 cookies.5

@danikat15 @goal06082021 @kenziestabes y'all are inspiring. I *love* Girl Scout cookies (and supporting Girl Scouts!) so I've been teetering. But truly, there's nothing in the world like two or three frozen Thin Mints on a hot awful day in July, so I'm going to use your strategies to get me some. I will divide them up (no eating a whole sleeve!) and THEN freeze them and I will *make them last.*
I can do this.
In other news, After my post Friday, I cried a bit, got some sleep, then flipped the double-bird at that whole week. I've now reset my routines to what I did last time I lost weight (overnight oatmeal for breakfast, salad for lunch, and honestly can't remember but I'll figure it out for dinner) and I'm down 1.6 pounds since the gain-fest last week. Still hoping to make my goal of -5 pounds this month. I really really REALLY want to leave this decade, where I've been hovering since mid-September. (Ah, I was so happy to get to it back then...)
Two pounds to go!6 -
Turns out meal prepping only works when you remember to bring the lunch you packed with you to work. oops.6

Whoops. Happens to the best of us! One way I've found to salvage a day like that is to basically swap lunch and dinner - eat my prepped lunch for dinner that night, and "spend" the calories I had allocated for dinner on something else to eat at lunchtime. Dinner tends to be my biggest meal, so that gives me a little more wiggle room if the only available options are a bit richer than I normally have for lunch.4 -
I just went to Chick-fil-a because they have some lower calorie options for fast food. lol4

OMG I had this same chat with myself 2 weeks ago and it worked! If I can't have the cookies today, I can always PLAN to eat them another time. It's not the last time I'm ever going to eat cookies, for crying out loud, I don't know why I was stuck in that rut. I buy the mini bags of Frosted Animal Cookies and when I plan what I'm going to eat that day I just allow for them. If I can't fit them in on that day, I can always eat them on another day. I just waited 3 days because I couldn't fit them in, but you know what? I was very much OK with that now. Tomorrow I won't get to eat them because I eat a loaded baked potato on Wednesday's. But they are not going anywhere, they will be there when I'm ready for them.5 -

My weigh-in day's are Tuesday's.
Goals for 2022:
- Plan what I will eat each morning and track everything I eat. Done
- Drink 6 glasses of water a day Done
- Read 1 book a month - Done, I'm on my 4th book now.
- Clean out my Closet my March 1st. On a planned break.
- Reach my goal weight by August 1st Maybe or Maybe Not
- Walk 3000 steps per day I did miss a day last week.
- Try 1 new recipe a month. I tried my Boc Choy recipe, it was delicious
- Update F2F Daily
- Keep up with F2F 40 things to do in 2022! I'm either working on this or thinking about it.
I've been working hard vacuuming, scrubbing and mopping our upper deck in anticipation of the new freezer arriving on the 31st. I'm ready for it now. Tonight, I got the Christmas Boxes put back in the Closet and the Sheets on the bed changed out. I will vacuum the entire house tomorrow. I'm staying true to my calorie counting and meal planning and I'm thinking about my next new recipe. I have made tons of progress in the mental aspect of losing weight, it's been hard but eye opening. It's always hard to take a good long look at myself and try to change what I see. But little by little, day by day I'm changing. I'm not perfect, but I do my very best and that's all I can ask of myself.
One of my goals is to not leave the clothes in the dryer, but that is just not real life. Maybe I should change it to: do not leave the clothes in the dryer for more than 2 days at a time.5 -
