This thread is so inspiring. I have been starting and stopping my weight loss journey for as long as I can remember. In January I took a picture with my mom and my daughter and that did it for me. It was an eye opener so now I am determined to eat right and move my body so I can look good and feel good.
I didn't want to start the new year with a resolution to lose weight so it took me a while to get going. On January 19th I finally got my first workout in for 2022. I have been going strong ever since. My nutrition has been on point since January 20th.
My February goals are to continue making good food choices and to finish every workout program that I start. Today I am on day 6 of a 21 day program. I feel myself getting stronger. It's amazing.

CURRENT goal target -224; this was my initial starting weight with mfp Maaaaany many years ago!! ๐
SECOND goal 199 - yup!! Wonderland not seen that in over a decade, maybe even 15years.
Since then Iโve lost weight, gained weight, had 3 children, lost weight, gained weight so on and so forth!
Then May 2018 I got diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia - not a great donor list for that one!!) and spent almost 3 years fighting cancer. I lost around 34lbs from the chemo and complications that arose along the way etcโฆ could barely eat/hold anything down for 5months - not a good diet ๐๐คญbad joke I know butโฆ.got to try and see the brighter side of life ๐
Then thanks to maintenance treatmentโฆ..I gained the 34lbs back ๐ along with an additional 44/45lbs - thanks to dexamethasone!! ๐๐ก๐, but I am here to see another day!
Since finishing treatment/maintenance and once re-cooperated I started a strict diet plan and lost almost 40lbs in 5monthsโฆ.Iโve now stalled for a few monthsโฆsince Christmas if Iโm honest and have been slowly gaining. My head has not been quite in the game!!!
So my first goal is get back to where I was all those maaaaany many years ago!!โฆitโs a small target but itโs in the right
Wishing you all happy scale numbers this month! ๐ช๐ช11 -

I'm going to CA with my daughter for the weekend to celebrate my birthday (Disneyland tomorrow). Traveling is usually an excuse to eat an insane amount of food and then be off plan for weeks/months. I'm excited to be traveling but so nervous because I don't want it to derail me. I want to enjoy the trip but also stay on track.

Hellllllo Onederland!!! I have not seen you since March 2015ish! It absolutely blows my mind! I am also halfway to my goal!
It amazes me how much energy and motivation I have. Like, I feel like getting my mental health in a better place prompted me to get my weight under control. And now thatโs trickling into getting my house in order. I WANT to clean. And I have the energy to do it. It's wild. Itโs like Iโm decluttering my life of extra crap thatโs held me down for so long. My next goal is to get to 191 since I'll officially be just overweight and no longer obese!

@danikat15 Congratulations on Onederland!!!!!!!!!!!!! and @goal06082021 Onederland for one whole month!! Way to go ladies!!
Yesterday, I finally realized that while I have been able to sew and resize some clothes properly to keep up with my new weight loss - my original plan to keep all my clothes by sewing was too ambitious. Like waaay too ambitious. And completely unrealistic.
So I have now, four 13 gal size trash bags of clothes to thrift. I also have 2 bags that were threadbare and had too many holes. I had been size from size 22 to 26-28 since 1994. So I had zero clothes that were smaller than that.
For those who are about to sweat getting new clothes for a "just passing by weight target" I have some suggestions. The easiest and cheapest, were cheapestees for like $3.00 each. I have a few wraparound skirts that are completely sizeable and they have sized down to where I am now. Think about that - a skirt that fit me with +105 lbs! That is very nice! I was able to save some skirts that had elastic waists, especially if it was a cased waist (last week I found 2 size 3x skirts that I had to cut 12" of elastic off). As for undies and bras, well I have found no hacks for that (as my band size went down my cup size went up. I am currently overflowing in a DDD bra. I don't even know what cup size comes next, but I think it is "no one can afford a bra like that") I do have some bras that I have modified since I was size 22, but it took a little more skill with a sewing machine than the skirts. I have exercise skirts, and I don't care how gym people feel about it. lols. They go to around the ankle, because I don't want to deal with shaving either. In the winter I can easily add tights, and I have at least one pair of sweats to go under them for warmth.
I am generally ashamed that I had gotten so incredibly large. I had 12 inches more fat about the waist!! Crazy. I am not even done, or at maintenance yet. I don't have many clothes now, but I do have plenty. I have underwear from size 3x to medium. Those I am having a harder time throwing away, because I am generally daft - and this task appears complex to me.
The hubby is all like, "You need to get rid of the clothes, you won't gain the weight back." He is incredibly naรฏve. I believe the numbers are quite high that I will regain within 5 years. And I will not take maintenance for granted. I will keep tracking and all that, I already have a plan for when I back slide - because I know that I am generally lazy and gluttonous. I will have to be diligent, and I will have to keep up prayer and fasting. I am starting to fit into mediums. If at this weight I am large/medium at target weight I think I will be small (not 100% positive). I have wide bones, so my feet are at the 8W that I am guessing I was before I got sick at age 20.
I still find it hard to believe, but I guess I will be that lady that is horrified that she has gained "5 lbs" (unrelated to cycle of course). I used to consider those people high maintenance. Yeah, well I will have to be high maintenance about my weight, because it is an issue for me. I think I will hit maintenance weight this year, all things being equal. For those who are also general backsliders, I offer this nugget of wisdom video on how to keep it off: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUxVCtScf8U
Carry on ladies, you can do this!!

Trying to refocus my efforts on fitness. With spring and summer around the corner in the northern hemisphere, I would love to get outside more and go hiking, kayaking, etc etc.
Although I have been working out 3 days a week, this whole "what do I feel like doing today" thing has only taken me so far. I walk my dog 30-45 minutes daily, but I'm going to divide my workouts as follows: Mellow Mondays, Weight Wednesdays, Fast Fridays.
Mellow Monday: Yoga. Focus on things like balance and flexibility. Maybe take a group class at the gym. Maybe use Yoga with Adriene videos.
Weight Wednesday: Some form of strength training. Focus on core and upper body. Can be body weight, dumbbell, or machines.
Fast Friday: Go on a 2 mile jog with about half a mile of warm up and cool down. Total between 2.5 and 3 miles.
These are on top of the 45 minutes dedicated to walking the dog. Obviously these are surface level goals. Plan on doing more research this weekend for specific workouts.7 -

*10k every day, no matter what. 15k at least once a week.
*eat better food.
*Seriously. Eat. Better. Food.
NOW we're heading in the right direction! I just need to keep it up. and probably keep amping it up. And next time, say "no thanks" when offered pizza at work, oops. I ate two small slices and I feel icky--totally opposite how I'd be feeling if I'd eaten my salad instead, i know. But I did manage to avoid the cake!
@StressedChaos welcome! I hope that your name (the first half, anyway) becomes irrelevant soon. Lifestyle change is where it's at!
YAY FOR ONEDERLAND @danikat15 !! Great job! I love that upward spiral. I've been experiencing it too.

@danikat15 I was just thinking the same thing this week! Housekeeping has never been my strong suit, and probably never will be (Ha!), but the state of it these days is worlds apart from this time last year. I don't know if its the increased energy from eating better & exercising, or whether the mess was a symptom of mild depression that got better with activity. Likely it was a combination of both. Whatever the reason, I love the fact that I now have a house that is much less cluttered, and of which I am not acutely embarrassed of. Congratulations on reaching Onderland!4
-
@justanotherloser007 You've definitely inspired me to pull out my sewing machine and alter some of my old stuff!
And I don't know where you're located, but I've always found that Lane Bryant has the best bras for anyone over a D cup. Their sizes go from 34B to 54K and their website shows you how to measure yourself for a proper fit. Also, they always have deals, so I've never paid full price for an LB bra (and they also have international shipping).5 -

This month I had intended to focus on self-care. Schedule a massage and facial, find ways to relax and reflect on my success so far. Alas, life had other plans for me this month. On Monday we signed a contract to buy a new house (we have been low-key looking since last year) and now are in a rush to get our house listed and under contract. Then the crazy of inspections, paperwork, packing, moving, unpacking and all the details that it takes to get set up in a new house. So I am changing my February focus to be on stress management while staying on plan. I know I can do this, over the last year+ I have really built sustainable eating habits that make it easy for me to stay on plan.
Firstly congrats! That's such an amazing milestone to mark. And I think that's so smart to change your goal to fit the current changes in your life. I'm well inspired!6 -

Happy birthday! Wishing you a fab trip. I'm not sure what's available in the US, but doing rotisserie chicken picnics have saved me while on the road! I mostly eat keto so some greens, chicken and I tend to bring a bit of Tupperware with me to make it easier to mix it all up. Just an idea that might save you, but I'd also say find ways to treat yourself too, my sister put me on to lower cal bars (they are so full of crap, but for occasional treats I'm ok with them) and also a gin and low cal tonic is one I like from time to time.5 -
