Apple Watch sync question

So it’s been about 6 months since I’ve been on MFP. I previously had it linked to my Fitbit. I’ve recently upgraded to an Apple Watch. I have MFP set to maintenance calories. For yesterday it shows 1780 base + 258 adjustment = 2038 for the day. But my Apple Watch app shows 2347. That’s over 300 calories difference. It’s not a sync issue because this mornings workout is showing up. Anyone else have this issue?

Silly question perhaps, but have you set MFP to weight loss? Your goal in MFP should be your total burn minus the calorie deficit (and 250 calories happens to be 0.5lbs per week).

Aside m that, Apple doesn't play well with MFP from what I've heard.

Apple sends wrong info for tdee resulting in reduction instead of increase in cal.

Connect via intermediate app (eg sync apple to pacer and pacer to MFP) or manually compare end of day tdee estimates between apps to figure out what you should eat.

If MFP+tracker is a prime consideration... as of early 2022 it ain't an upgrade unless the tracker is a Fitbit (eating targets correct on both MFP and Fitbit side subject to possible outage/delay) or a Garmin (eating targets correct on MFP side but not necessarily the Garmin app side)

I checked my settings. It’s definitely at maintenance.

I changed something in my settings. I think this is it here. It's in the webview of MFP under Exercise > Settings
