Hello. I am a 40 y.o. mom of 2 and I have battled my weight since childhood. I have gone up and down countless times, using many different programs, through my youth, my formative years, my failed marriage, and now my childrens youth. My son will be 15 in August and my daughter will be 13 in May. I have robbed them of most of their childhood experiences because of my limitations. I am ready to turn things around for all three of us, because I am at my highest weight ever and feel like I can barely function. My kids also need to lose some excess weight. Please help with insight, inspiration, and friend-adds from people with like-goals. Thank you in advance and I look forward to an interchange of encouragement.

How wonderful that your kids will benefit from your weight loss journey…learning better choices of what to eat as well as portion sizes. A pound a week and you’ll be there when the first one graduates. It will take a bit of time, accepting that it won’t happen overnight will help in the tough patches. I wish you the best.

I am starting here too! I gained maybe 40lb since 2019 after going to gym for two years! Due to COVID lockdown and a pain in my back, it made easy for me to gain all the weight back. I got to over 200 lb. All my hard work - working out 3 times a week, eating clean and paying gym fee went under a cat's tail. Recently I got bitten by a dog and when I saw a chunk fo fat inside the open skin I was shocked! It was scary to imagine that I have these fat chunks in my body and how unkind it could be for the body.
Since this Monday I am using the app to track my food intake. I set a low expectation target to eat less to loose only 0.5 lb a week and couple workouts per week. I found that I eat way less calories that app suggests and that means I can loose more weight than projected. Just keep choosing! Your body will adjust to eating cleaner - we normally overeat. If you choose eat conscious, you will be amazed with the results. It's a change!

I just started alternate day fasting (ADF) on Monday and I've lost 4lbs in 4 days. It's been the easiest thing I've tried in awhile. Look it up.

Feel free to add me as a friend. I have been where you are. Right now I am down almost 70 pounds, but I still have a ways to go. I have found that slow and steady is the best way to approach it. Best of luck to you!!
