Has MFP been hacked again?

Got a lot of spam since yesterday, all addressed to Yirara - a name I only use here. MFP, what's going on?

Hmmmmm...my spam count has been up too but I also do a couple websites that give points for clicking on links.

My favorite was still getting snail mail addressed to my usual internet name when I used it on that stupid Next Door app.

Old hacks can come home to roost years later, if IDs/data are still being exchanged on the dark web. I'm not saying there can't be a new problem, because there can . . . just saying that a new symptom can also still be from an old problem. (I haven't seen any extra spam lately in the mail account MFP knows about, and definitely none that reference to my MFP ID. Of course, truly egregious spam gets caught by the provider and never even shows up in my spam folder.)

True. it can all come back. I was curious if someone else experienced the same. My email comes in via a small local server, and I often check what gets caught up in the filter. So yeah, I see these things.

Your post prompted me to check my Spam folder, which I don't do very regularly. Plenty of the usual rubbish, and two emails that actually weren't Spam, but not more than I'd expect given that I haven't looked at it for about a month.

Yes--I have a great deal more spam recently. Most gets caught in the filter, and I monitor it to make sure there's nothing important. This has been happening for several weeks, plus the language changes constantly on MFP when I change pages. Then I get no photos on my newsfeed--just the comments. Sigh. Why does this site keep going bonkers? I'm tired of it.
