I have dieted all my life. Now at 300 lbs, it’s time to get serious or die.

I felt the same. I find that logging the food diary each meal makes it almost easy. I don’t put pressure on myself and just do small steps that I can handle. I also read posts that are up at the top in each section. Long time members have voted for the most helpful and “must read” posts and they are SO helpful. Just changing out a few high calorie items for some super low options has made a world of difference. If I crave candy, I have fruit and some sugar free jello. The jello is 5 or ten calories. You can just zap the barcode on anything packaged, just be sure to log the correct portion size that you choose so you get correct calorie count.
I really like it. It feels good to focus on myself for once. Take care of you!1 -
Hi Pearl, I empathize with you. I spent most of my adult life dieting. Was very successful a number of times (even won a national contest) but my appetite came back with a vengeance. I couldn't control it and the weight came back on plus more pounds. Last year I was wheelchair and bed bound due to severe back pain. I was 270, classified as morbidly obese, and I knew I had to do something to try to get some weight off. Didn't count calories but started cutting out flour products, sugars and processed foods. Quit going through the "Drive Thru's". I ate real food and only twice a day. I tried to not snack in between meals. I've lost 42 pounds so far. From 270 to 228. My goal is to lose 100... so down to 170. You can do it and I'll be here to support you!0
