I am averaging about 3 pounds a month, but it's very inconsistent-. My TSH levels had increased again so about a month ago my synthroid dosage was increased. I'm still pretty much stuck where I've been the past month, but I have lost some inches (or fractions) so that's encouraging. As someone else mentioned, if 2-3 pounds a month is discouraging, do the math for a year and it seems much better.

That doesn't mean I don't have twinges of envy at times, though, when I see people with similar stats and goals losing a lot more than I am.

From last Oct to May (30 weeks) and down 14lbs. If my math is right thats .46 lbs a month. My biggest drop was Feb where I loss 6lbs just by changing gym.
Took a 2 month break and gained ~3lbs.
I have been logging 70 days and back down to where I was in May.

I lost the excess weight I was carrying over 5 years ago and have maintained that loss successfully. I think that part of the reason is that I did it in a healthy manner and didn't get in a big hurry. It took 19 months for me to get to my goal and I then dropped a few more pounds for a total of about 120 lbs. loss @ an average of 1.3 lbs. a week (5.2 lbs. a month). At first I lost MORE than that average per month and at the last a lot less...but that's the average over that time.

Healthy weight loss is supposed to be between 1/2 and 2 lbs. a week so I fell right within that average.

    I'm happy!

I hit my first 30 days today and I'm down 5 lbs, but quite a few in inches too. My clothes are feeling so much better and definitely looser!

  • My average is 6.6 lbs. Broken down into weekly puts me at 1.65 lbs. per week. The recommended weight loss rate is 1-2 lbs. per week if I am correct.

I am losing slowly, about 1 lbs per week, so 4-5 lbs per month.

I've been here 7 weeks and I've lost 14lbs. So I'm averaging right at 2lbs per week.

Only been using the site for a month but I got to 9 pounds. I don't want to be losing too much more though my gut is showing me otherwise.
  • 1-5 lbs a month. Once I got to a normal BMI it got a lot harder to lose weight.

    In 8 months - my average is 0.6kg (1.3 pounds) a week so that's about 2.5 kg or 5.5 pounds a month.
But in reality it was higher for the first 5 -6 months and definitley slower for the last 2 - 3 months as I get closer to my goal.

I found it pretty helpful to chart my weight loss monthly once I'd been here a few months. This way I can really see that it has gone down a LOT, even when it feels like I'm stuck, seeing the continual downward line is very motivating :)

I lost about a lb a week once I started losing. For the 1st 3-4 weeks I didn't lose anything. Once I reached my goal size I upped the calories a bit and now I'm losing about 1 lb a month, which I'm guessing will stop after about 5 more lbs unless I change something.
