    Good morning everyone! Questions:

Do you eat your exercise calories?

Does the phrase "Light as a feather, stiff as board" go through your head when you step on the scale?

    @MsMcClane

Yes I eat my exercise calories back. Most days I exercise quite heavily and I wouldn't have the energy to sustain those sessions if I didn't.

    Lol re: the scale

    Have a great Monday!

My daily calorie goal is 1200. If I go over, I gain. So no, I don't and can't eat my exercise calories.

I've never heard that phrase before.

@MsMcClane - Back when I was power walking, I had started eating back my exercise calories, but it seemed to be preventing weight loss. I figured that my metabolism was not being calculated right for my body and decided to enter one-third of my exercise time so I could allow myself a small snack within my calorie limit. Right now, I am not working up a sweat much these days, so I currently do not have to worry about this. Lol!

@nikkit321 - I bet ya that weight gain is from sodium. Hoping it dissolves away soon for you!

"My daughter brought donuts home last night which was a special treat from out of town. I just wish she had brought ONE."

I know what you mean about this! My coworkers often bring food in and right now I've had to resist donuts and danishes. I've been avoiding the breakroom...

@OhioLibrarian Such a rare treat for us since we don't have a donut shop or any big box stores like walmart etc. No bakery in our small grocery store either so what a treat! However, that is no excuse for me to turn them into a meal. It's not just the abundant calories, it's the lack of real nutrition too. Anyway, if it was a test, I failed miserably! But thanks for reminding me that I'm not alone in the temptations. I am inspired by the fact that you have been able to resist at times. I mean, not just ANYBODY can resist DANISHES! This is also a head game. I'll have to work on that part of it more. Thanks for inspiring.

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 61 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s

    Starting Weight (from March 31, 2022): 199.6
    Goal: 194.6 (Five lb Loss)

**************************************ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE DECISION AT A TIME************************************

04/01…...199.8…..(Trend Weight 199.4)….. Not such a great way to start.

04/02.…..198.6…..(Trend Weight 199.6)….. A very small dinner, no snacks. Very tired last night. Got in more sleep than usual. A good TMI this morning. A lot of good contributing factors to a loss on the scale.

04/03.…..199.8…..(Trend Weight 199.6}….. Lunch out with a friend yesterday. ½ for lunch and ½ for dinner. Bouncy-bounce.

04/04.…..198.2…..(Trend Weight 199.5)….. Really no change in behaviors here (though there should be more!) I’m not sure why I go up and down but here it is today. Lowest weight since Mar 14. I’ll take it, shake it and see what I can do with it.

04/05.…..198.8…..(Trend Weight 199.4)….. My daughter brought donuts home last night which was a special treat from out of town. I just wish she had brought ONE. Today I am planning a big pot of soup for dinner and she is inviting her boyfriend to join us. I will keep portions under control and try to make up for yesterday a bit. Cooking is challenging right now. The stove is in the livingroom sitting on a cement board on the carpet. The kitchen is fully gutted down to studs so dishes are in my bedroom and anticipated food items we may need in the next month or two is upstairs on the landing. Pots & pans on the console style entertainment piece under the LR tv. The back & forth for every spoon or glass is giving me extra steps. It all adds up!

04/06.…..199.6…..(Trend Weight 199.5)….. Donuts showed up on the scale today. Thank Goodness for all the extra steps and miles yesterday or it could have been worse. Staying diligent today.
