Hello everyone,
My name is Terri. I’m a mom of 6 adult children (5 daughters and 1 son) and have 10 grandchildren. Working on making me a healthier version of me. I need to lose 100 lbs. this is my 2nd day of starting over hahaha I actually went up on the scale since my last log in… I can bring excuses all day but, it was all me and what I ate. I’m off to a new start today!

    Hello Everyone!!

My name is Karen O! I am joining MyFitnessPal to keep better track of what I eat and help with my food prep. Food prep is something that I need to work on because I know that helps me control the calories plus when I am hungry I want to just grab stuff and go. I understand that it is my responsibility to control what and why I eat. This isn't a punishment for me this is relearning a skill that I forgot how to do. Learning to feel full and the signals in my brain that occur. I have smothered those signals in my brain with food from my emotions and stress.

For me this isn't a diet and no matter how many times I don't listen to those signals. I am going to pick myself up and move forward.

    thank you!

    Karen O

Hi there! I went up 40 pounds since my last log in in 2017! But I am down 10 since I started this time 15 days ago. I do feel this will stick this time. Got 40 more pounds to go. I am a mom of two teenaged boys. You are welcome to friend me if you like. You got this!

Welcome Terri. Every single day is a new start so don't give up!

When I started using MFP again in early January of this year I weighed the most I have in 20 years, which was 10 lbs more than I did the last time I had logged a weight on MFP back in 2015. I, too, had about 100 lbs to lose at that point. At 60 years old I felt terrible and worried about developing the same weight related health problems that my mother and some of my siblings have experienced.

The first 4 or 5 weeks were the most difficult for me. Once my new routines were more developed and I started to learn what seemed to work well for me it began to get a little easier. Through meal planning, faithful tracking, and exercise I have lost 24 lbs so far. I feel so much better already! My stamina has improved substantially and my knees and hips rarely hurt.

I wish you the best and hope that you are able to reach your goals!

Welcome, Terri! You can absolutely do this and accountability “it was me and what I did” is better than making excuses any day of the week! 😀

I have 5 kids ( 4 still at home) and I log in every day. You can add me (anyone can) if you want as a friend and I’ll try to cheer you along the way. I’m 74 pounds down so far and still plods along… Just keep going and you will be fine!

Hi there, I completely understand. My starting weight was 278 and now I am at 268..I want to lose 140 lbs or a bit more. I am only 5ft 4.5in and probably should weigh 138lbs..my goal is to get to half my body weight. You are truly not alone.
