I have logged my food the last few days and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t being logged as completed. 🤦♀️ I’m new here lol I wasn’t hitting the complete (big long blue) button…. Who does that 😆😆😆 meeeeee 😆

Well, you don't actually need to complete your diary 🙂 it just gives a not very reliable prediction of your weight loss and posts a message to your newsfeed.0

I wondered about that prediction after you click complete.... is that an algorithm based on just calories in vs. calories out? Wonder if there is anything more to it?0

I haven't clicked that button in 14 years. So, meeeeee too.
It serves no purpose to me. "Reports" are still recorded. It's a gimmick, I wouldn't place too much importance on it unless you want a bunch of atta-girls from MFP "friends" on your feed.1 -
I've used the app off and on for years and have never hit that button. It doesn't matter.

Just based on calories logged, in and out, that day only, and - it appears to me - based on the calorie needs estimate MFP calculates from your profile info.
That is, if you've set a customized calorie goal yourself, that has zero effect.
If you logged wildly different exercise or eating yesterday, to a different result vs. goal, that has no effect.
It's pretty pointless, IMO. A trending app does better (still not perfect).0 -
Welcome @jstcallmesassy61!
Personally, I click that button practically every day lol - I love seeing a new projected low if I keep up what I'm doing and a new "decade" as I approach it!
And who doesn't mind a few "Atta girls" from my "friends" 😝😊?
I agree with Ann though, a more nuanced calculation would be more interesting and useful, but I'll still click that button and get that sense of accomplishment each day 😇0
