Uber Eats keeps offering me free food. Up to $35 dollars worth actually. I haven't cashed in on it at all because when I look at their offerings I realize I can do better at home and make it tastier AND healthier at the same time. I used to be a sucker for anything free, especially anything that was free and food related, so this is a big change in mindset for me.24

I managed Teacher Appreciation Week! I ate a Panera bagel on Monday and fit it into my day's calories. On Tuesday, I ate the Mexican food that was provided for lunch and guesstimated for logging. Yesterday I took a candy bar and gave it to my husband as I deemed it not worth the calorie cost. Today I declined the chocolate chip cookie delivery cart. Moderation is the word of the week!21

Discovering the wonder that is powdered peanut butter!!
I LOVE peanut butter, but it is such a calorie bomb that I've had to cut it completely from my diet. Not. Any. More. Wooo hoooo!!!

This!!
I actually go for powdered organic chocolate peanut butter. At only 50 calories per 2TBS it is just the right treat. I enjoy it mostly with a sliced apple and usually make it on the thinner side and use it as a dipping sauce. Yum.9 -
I ran 3.2 miles today, and this is after not running for almost a year.22

I was folding my laundry, and thought "hmmm, some of this stuff is getting a little worn, may need to replace" (at least for occasions where I need to be better dressed).
Some of my thin-person clothes are almost worn out (6+ years). Mind boggled!32 -
Annual physical was yesterday. Annual is just a term. I usually go two years beteen "annual" exams. My doctor says I'm still fit to dive, and the things that I had some concerns about probably aren't what I thought, and that's good.
Lab work is trickling in, and in general looks pretty good. I may have a couple things to focus on the next year or two.
My Garmin device tells me, based on it's estimation of my VO2-Max, that my "fitness age" is 14 years younger than my chronological age.
There's another thing; I'll write about it in a few weeks.

Finally reached my mini-goal of getting below 300lbs (started at 334) and I bought size 24 pants for the occasion, but those fall off too! I'm gonna have to buy size 22 now!

One year ago this week combining indoor/outdoor about a 50/50 walk/runs I logged less than 20 miles. This week from Monday-Sunday I finished a week of one 10k a day. Almost 43.5 miles all outside runs with high winds, a rainy finish on one and a few hot days. This was unplanned. Paid attention to the old body, slowed down on a few days and avoided injuries so yeah this is a big personal accomplishment. One personal reason I wanted to get this done as well so I’m glad I stuck with it and got it done. Happy Mothers Day to all…30

My husband grabbed a candy bar while we were at Walmart and even though I was hungry I wasn't even tempted. Today I was a close to my sodium goal and didn't want to go over but my fat free dressing would have taken me well over so I ditched the dressing and loaded my taco meat (home spices not prepackaged) right onto the salad. I added an ounce of Australian Sharp Cheddar cheese to it and my 6 Ritz crackers I had planned for snack later and it was a really good salad. Oh and I ditched the croutons. Even though it's mother's day I still managed to eat a good bit and come below by calorie goal today.22

I managed to fit into size Large sportsleggings from adidas today - afaik those don't tend to run huge. There is no logical reason why they should fit, not based on my weight or my measurements, but somehow they were perfect. And the new balance leggings I got in a size XL that were supposed to be 7/8 length were very loose on my waist ánd full length (I am 175cm tall, no reason for them to be ankle length on me) so my world view has completely shifted and idk what reality is anymore.
Sizes are fake but hey, free confidence boost.17 -
Getting through COVID without needing to go to the hospital. My cardio-vascular fitness and weight and vastly different than they were a year ago. I ended up with fairly mild symptoms, which I believe were the result of improved fitness and health combined with being fully vaccinated.33

oh geez, yes, I have had many discussions in my head about how just because it's free doesn't mean I have to eat it. I can afford food! I have lots at home. If I want a donut, I'll go get a good one (help/doesn't help to have a good bakery nearby.)
It's an ongoing conversation.13 -
Day 125 since I adopted a completely plant-based diet. Outside of a couple of minor complaints - most vegan cheese is pretty awful except in small amounts, there are few options at many restaurants in my area - it has been a smooth transition.
I had been eating meatless meals (still had dairy and/or eggs) for breakfast and lunch during the day and meat during dinners for much of 2021 and decided to try eating plant-based after New Years during "Veganuary" to see how I felt omitting animal protein from my diet. My energy levels have been through the roof and there are fewer times where I feel bloated after eating a big meal.
My experiment has moved to a permanent way of eating. My family still eats animal proteins and I help them prep meals since the bulk of their plates is usually grains and veggies as well. I am not pressuring them to adopt a plant-based diet since while this way of eating works for me, it may not work well for others. The takeaway for me is that occasionally they find a plant-based meal they really like and want to eat it with me.
The other day, I treated myself to a Beyond Burger. I don't eat these very often since they have a good deal of sodium and fat compared to the rest of my diet. My son saw me eating it and asked for a bite. He ended up going to the freezer and getting a patty for himself. I call that a small win.23 -
Ran my first 10 mile race today! Originally it looked to be fun and scenic but the weather turned nasty. Horizontal rain driven by 40 to 50 mph winds! It was brutal in places! Ran the first 5-1/2 miles, then walked a half of mile while I took nourishment (energy gel), then ran the last 4-1/2 miles to the finish line. Completed it in 1:56:30.
Here is the course:
