05/17 - 176.7 - 13,200 steps and 75 minutes. Well SO got called back to work, what a week I ordered a cake from a bakery and had to change the pickup date. Then I thought he was leaving this afternoon and I would be stuck with a whole cake, but he wiggled in an extra day home. Good news as we had planned a dinner out with some of the family to celebrate both his birthday and paying off our mortgage!! Hooray we are debt free!! Will celebrate with a bottle of wine! Calories are up and activity is down but that's ok as I'm spending time with my Love.

@BethE238 You deserve to use your swim club! Don't let your ex-friend steal your joy. It's your safe place and you're there for YOU. Don't stay away because of what someone who's no longer in your life *might* be thinking about your weight gain because honestly, they're not worth it and they're probably far more caught up in how they look in their suit than you in yours.
@musicsax Enjoy your son's wedding!
@quiltingjaine Happy anniversary!3 -

Goal: No more than 60 g added sugar daily, 4 walks this round denoted by**
Highest weight: 178.8

Day/Weight/Comment
5/17 165.8 I feel like I've gotten control of my sugar habit—but that it won't be a lifetime struggle, but I know what works for me now (the 'delay, don't deny' approach: I still get my dark chocolate and Coke, but only a portioned amount in the one-hour window after dinner). Now I want to tackle my (lack of) exercise. Looking over post rounds, I average 2 walks per round. Yes, I have mobility challenges but I'm determined to move more! Would really like to meet my goal of 4 walks this round.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for almost 5 years with amazing results!

5/17 – Went for a really nice walk this morning because I wanted to give my hip a break. On my walk I got to see baby geese, baby swans, ducklings, and an owl at the nearby pond/trails. It was such a nice walk to be immersed in nature on a gorgeous morning! Food has been on point today as well. I have a massage to go to in a few minutes and plan to strength train tomorrow. Have a good night!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day, Weight, Comment
5/17 - DNW - Virtual chat with doc today. She said she's had minimum 3 patients within the last week with the flu and all of them have almost identical symptoms as me. I'm on her orders to stay home from work until Monday to avoid being contagious around others outside the household (which can't be helped). I'm feeling better today, mainly this afternoon. Finally able to eat something other than broth for lunch/afternoon snack. Not near enough food, but muuuuuch better than yesterday. Giving my poor body energy to fight is important but trying to keep it down is more important. Yesterday and this morning was tiny sips of water and barely over 30oz. A little better this afternoon, can take bigger sips more frequently without nausea. TMI is iffy, but that may be from the illness OR from dehydration (it's a thing with me as I've learned in this group over time!) or both. I'm not going to weigh until I feel a little more back to normal, especially regarding water intake vs salty broth intake (the bloat is reaaaaaaal over here). But I needed nutrients however I could get them and keep them in my system so I'm not even mad about it and that's more important than how I look. Fatigue isn't as bad as yesterday, but still a tad bit there. I've been feeling warmer than I normally do (not curled up with a hoodie and blanket but in just a tshirt and no blanket. Very unusual for me). In the last hour or two I've finally started feeling my normal cold and I'm content in a hoodie (but no blanket yet so still elevated temp feeling). Doc thinks I'm on the recovery side of it, thankfully, so I'm going to chug along with caring for my body and doing what it needs for recovery vs needs to lose weight/gain muscle. On a happier note, I have an initial interview on Thursday (hopefully I'll be recovered enough by then) for a remote job. Need to email the local one I really want to see if there's any update.

Net change 2022 = SW 380.0 EW 366.0 (-14.0) Overall goal: 24-33 lbs.In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010, weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO, the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively every day. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Every day I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.6 -

HI, Nicole here.
SW: 94.5kg
44 years old and 5foot3", Was on this app approximately 5 years ago and I was able to keep motivated. I kept a steady weight of approximately 78kg which I was happy with for close to 2 years. Since then we have had a lot of the Rona, a lot of isolating and a lot of ignoring how much weight I was gaining (no one was able to see). I also 10 months ago gave up a VERY heavy smoking habit. I think it's about time that I pay a bit of attention to myself and start looking at getting healthy!
Day/Weight/Comment
5/17 - 94.5kg/ Feeling like I could possibly do this.
5/18 -94kg/ Second day of doing C25K. Have logged my food for the 2nd day as well as made good decisions regarding nutrition. A lot of the weight that I may see go will be the bloating due to high salt junk food. Spent a bit of time looking at my ankles with admiration tonight after contemplating the weight they have just had running on top of them!!! Will declare today ankle appreciation day......

/ a little bit of hauling part of folks “collection” out to the dumpster. I am always amazed whether cleaning my own desk, or cleaning my own house, how much worthless chaff I find that I held on to. For this reason, I am not criticizing my parents. / Big bowl of ice cream last night did not help the cause. Helped my parents sell their nice dining room table!

I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.9 -

05/16 …..203.4….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
05/17 …..204.2 ….. (Trend weight 203.2) All day travel throughout Northern Michigan yesterday with a friend who had an appointment to look at a new (used) vehicle. Then lots of fun girl time and travel hitting car lots within a 200 mile vicinity. We think we found something after hours. Waiting for a return call today. Nice meal at a steak house. Snacks weren’t good.
05/18 …..204.4 ….. Trend weight 203.2) Dinner out with one of my children last night. Late Mother’s Day dinner. Mexican. Today is my PC doctor appointment and glucose check. I know it won’t be good. I am beginning to suffer from severe Acid Reflux again. All the problems of obesity are returning. I know I have to get more serious and stay more consistent or more trouble is coming.

Day, Weight, Comment
5/17 - DNW
5/18 - DNW - I'm feeling a bit better. Now it's the same symptoms of dehydration, which it very likely is. I do have a little fatigue, but better every day so far. I've had breakfast already and no cramping or nausea so much improvement there. All the fuel for my body to fight this illness off! Chugging down water and think, as long as I don't start to feel worse, I'll hit my 90oz again today. BF got notified he moved on to interview #1 for the screening interview he had last week. He also had a screening interview this morning for another job. (both these jobs have screening, interview #1, interview #2. Must pass each one to move on to next). My interview tomorrow is just a screening interview, I'm not terribly worried about that one. It's remote, so it's an improvement, but it's not my "ideal" job. We shall see how it goes. Emailed the job I really wanted for the county and the HR lady is out of office until Monday so I imagine I won't hear anything until then since almost everything goes through HR (she does have an assistant, but I haven't communicated with said assistant previously). They've been looking for someone for this position for 3 years and I've gotten the furthest apparently. Wish I knew about it when I moved down here! Apparently they hadn't kept the posting up and that explains why I didn't see it when looking for jobs to move to Texas in the first place. This round was posted only 19 days ago. Ahhh, waiting game.

Previous Day's Comments5/17 - Virtual chat with doc today.
