How many look back at their Wedding photos as wish.....

That they were that same size again? See here is where I find it sometimes odd. I know and have trained many a couple for the "big" day, but it's like after it's come and gone, then the desire to stay that weight is no longer a priority. Why? Because if it was, many couples could still fit in their dresses and tux's if it were true. Now granted having children for a female can definitely change their shape, but for the most part, if the same desire to be fit and lean for the wedding and photos were that important, I would think that for the REST OF YOUR LIFE, it should be the same.
So quit wishing. If you did it once, you can do it again!

Not me. I was a fat *kitten* when I got married.
  • for both my husband and I we are in better shape than when we got married! on our 1st yr anniversary we joked about how surprised we were that we weren't tired of each other yet--and he said that unlike most couples we actually look better now! haha.. and if anything I wish I was then the size I am now!

Yeah I don't like my wedding shape! The weight was fine but I was always "skinny fat" and I don't like it. I want to be a bit bigger weight wise but smaller dress size and more of that "toned" looks. Sure I was small, but I had way too much flab!

I was going to say this. I wasn't big, but I wasn't in shape either. I'd like to have to get my wedding dress taken in a size. :)

I was underweight for my wedding and 35 years later have no desire to look that gaunt again. But thanks for asking. I think it is for the most part a valid question. When did we stop shutting the bathroom door or wearing make-up/perfume? Time to return to romance and that means looking good and being healthy for the person who deserves it most: the love of your life, that you CHOSE to share your life with.

Me too! I look at my wedding photos in horror. They're motivation to not look like that anymore!

I weigh about 10 pounds LESS than I did when I got married. I should go put on my dress, just for funsies.

This... I started about 6 months too late to be where I really wanted to be at my wedding.

Oh well, I looked amazing even if my thighs were still huge

Gotta agree with many above respondents...we were Mr. and Mrs. Stay Puft at our wedding...the pictures barely look like us now!

This is the PERFECT quote! I love my husband the way he is and I'm pretty sure he was happy with the old me..but I want to be around to enjoy eachother for a long, long time ;)

Now that you mention it, I believe I am lighter and overall in much better health than I was all those years ago. (Don't tell my wife, but I can't remember how many years ago it was.)

I do this. I don't wish I was the same size exactly, it is more of a state of mind I want to go back to. Completely happy with myself and confident. I am almost there.

I was 7 months pregnant when I got married! (Classy, I know...)

I wish I would have prioritized fitness BEFORE that point, but I guess most of us are here because we learn the best when it's the hard way!

For me, the desire to be in BETTER shape has given me so many more opportunities than my friends who don't have to TRY to be 'thin'. I value physical fitness now, not just being 'skinny', and I don't think I would have the same attitude if I were naturally thin.

I gained over 100 pounds after I got married. I'm attending a charity event in October and the dress code is wedding attire. If you can, you are supposed to wear a wedding dress. The fact that I fit back into mine is pretty awesome.

How odd. It's usually the other way around. Look forward to hearing more stories.

I'm actually smaller than I was during my wedding and wish I had been more serious about losing weight then like I am now.

The day I celebrate a 10 year anniversary, I'm going on an exotic vacation and renewing vows on the beach in a new beachy white dress =)

You do look AMAZING in your pics. They are my favorite!

I loved how I looked on my wedding day, I had worked hard to get there then. Now I weigh 20 pounds less and I love that too.
  • it's rather comical to me. Yes, I'd like to be back there again- however, when I was "there"
I was convinced I was horribly overweight

now that's my goal weight- sorta. I'm shooting for a healthy BMI/body fat and A+++ on my blood work- and OFF as many meds as possible.

30 yrs later, my eyesight's changed

    but so has my perspective.

I didnt have a wedding and I have no pics. But I tried on the dress I wore that day a few weeks back and its way too big on me now. I wish I had done this a long time ago but Ive done it now. Good enough!

Same here. Tenth anniversary is coming up in less than two months, and I'm way more fit now than I was then!

haha, me too! :) I put my wedding dress on last year and I was swimming in it, so I finally gave it away!

Editing to add, my wedding dress was a size 14 that my mom had to let out because I ate too much before the wedding...yes, seriously. If I were to get married today, I bet I would be in a 4 or 6 :)

I think I'm about the same size as when I got married... I'd still like to lose those last 20 lbs though... wedding dress is gone at any rate, but maybe for our 25th anniv we could do it all over again? :) who knows? That's like a decade from now...so I only have to lose 2 lbs a year! LOL

I look back on my wedding pictures and regret the extra 250# I was carrying around back then. But I feel much lighter post-divorce

In all seriousness, folks tend to get so wrapped up in prenuptial weight loss and wedding planning that they forget that the objective is a marriage, not just a wedding. I'm guilty of that, but I know I'm not the only one. You can bust your *kitten* to look good in those wedding pictures, but if you're not working just as hard on your relationship, then those pictures are wasted. I've got a couple photos from my wedding where I look fantastic. But they never see the light of day now.
