What's Your Most Recent NSV

I was feeling sad and discouraged after work yesterday, recognised it, and didn't binge! I drove straight past a McDs and went home and ate my mackerel + vegetables that I had prepared.34

I have this blouse that's supposed to be loose fit but has no stretch. It's always been loose and lovely around my chest and shoulders but I could only fit my belly, lower back (where I carry a lot of fat) and upper hips in when wearing jeans under the blouse, as jeans typically hold me in. Today I put on regular nice work pants (which got very loose around the waist recently), which would have been a problem a few weeks ago, and the blouse falls perfectly and loosely over that area. I am so happy. It finally looks the way it's supposed to, it's so comfortable and I feel really pretty.35

My most recent NSV is on Sunday it was my 10 year MFP anniversary. 10 years, 120 months, 3,650 days, 87,600 hours, 5,256,000 minutes, 315,360,000 seconds ago today, I was morbidly obese, unhealthy, and at the heaviest I have ever weighed. I made a lifestyle decision to get control of my eating habits...my life depended on it. I started using My Fitness Pal and got honest with myself. I gathered a group of online and personal friends for support and accountability. With their help and support, I lost 82 lbs. over time and have been able to keep it off. During this time, I didn't really deny myself anything I wanted to eat or drink. There have been ups and downs, gains and losses, but overall I'm glad I made that decision 10 years ago. If you're not happy where you're at health wise, I encourage you to make a decision that you've been avoiding. 1 day at a time. You'll be glad you did.52

I finally see it. I'm down 70 pounds since I started a year ago. While I notice the losses and that I fit into smaller clothes, it's still been hard not to see myself as still being the same weight. I was looking on my website the other day where I have photos of myself and was shocked to see how much my face has changed. I'm not sure why I just noticed, but it's definitely time for new head shots and marketing photos. I can't wait to replace the old ones!!30

A little over a week ago, I went to a reunion. I just realized that not only did I allow myself to be included in photos, I actually asked to have some taken. As someone who has avoided having my picture taken like the plague (for at least the last decade or so, age & weight both factoring in) this was a huge change mentally and I'm only two thirds of the way to my goal!28

I'm FINALLY comfortable in my body in that sit-down-in-a-bikini-without-folding-my-arms way! It's the only way I can think to describe it and I've only felt this way a couple times in my entire life. I don't feel self-conscious no matter what I'm doing or wearing or how I'm positioned. It's the best feeling! I really have to maintain my body at this size because constantly fussing over my body is such a waste of energy and feeling fantastic every day as my default is WORTH IT!28

Not sure if it’s a proud NSV moment. But it is an NSV moment nonetheless. It happensed yesterday while I was in the back yard playing fetch with the pooches. It was fairly windy as I stepped up back onto the patio the wind managed to push me back to the yard. I checked the watch and it said wind was 16 mph. I’ve run in 20 mph winds without an issue. I’m hoping that it was a very strong gust that knocked my a s s off the porch. 🤣17

I haven't weighed in since I started back at it. And yesterday I decided to try on my goal weightloss jeans just to see if I was making progress. THEY BUTTON AND ZIP! I still have a long way to go and I still have to lose more in order for them to fit well enough to wear out but I"m so excited! (I posted it on my weightloss journey tiktok as well).

I am 18 pounds down (not quite halfway to goal) but I have been able to totally get off my heartburn/GERD medication (omeprazole)!34

Yesterday, my sister and I hiked a trail we haven't done since last year. The very first time we first did it, I had to stop so many times to catch my breath and it took us almost two hours. Yesterday, despite not hiking since last fall, I never had to stop and we set our benchmark time for this year at one hour and twenty minutes. Can't wait to see our pace in a few months. It was a beautiful day with fabulous company. Life is good.22

Got a 5k or 3.1 miles done with an Avg. Pace of 8'43''/MI. Additionally I did it with an Avg. Cadence of 177 SPM and managed to maintain an Avg. Heart Rate of 148 BPM. For a guy about to turn 52 in 24 days hey I'm going to take it as a nice NSV. I sat on a park bench and enjoyed the moment afterwards. Still had over a mile before I could make it home and didn't feel like taking time and just walk. So thought I'll jog real real real slow. First 50 feet I felt stiff and made me think that a slow jog was not going to be to difficult. After shaking off the initial stiffness I figured meh lets just take it slow and if I need to walk so be it. My perception was off. Got the mile done in 10'32" and I stopped. I guess the fast 5k and the initial stiffness made me think I was going much slower. I walked very slowly the remaining distance home...19

I actually went to the gym this morning.
As someone who is travelling for work right now, actually getting up and making it to the gym is kind of a big deal for me as I hate gyms. I know I'm going to eat like crazy on this trip (because I love to try different food when I'm travelling) so if I'm able to keep my fitness up, then at least it should be easier to keep at a sensible weight while I'm here and easier to lose when I'm home.25 -
I'm getting back to logging seriously. I didn't have any major weight gain while I was taking a break from it but I noticed I put on a few pounds over a few months so I don't want to slowly gain that back. Plus I want to drop a nice amount to get closer to goal weight. Anyway my NSVs were logging my food again yesterday and the day before, and also not having four marshmallows yesterday even though they were only 100 calories. Normally I wouldn't mind but while I'm getting back on track I want to make it a little easier to avoid cravings, and for me, cutting out refined sugar helps with that.29

My abs were sore after my work out and I realized that under all of this extra fat I am carrying around is a skinny me. This sounds stupid probably. But it was the first time I didn’t think of myself as a fat person who would always be fat. My first realization that I have the power to change what I don’t like. Now I have to keep going and prove this to myself.41

This is one perhaps only Garmin users will understand: my fitness level has increased to the point where my watch no longer gives me a VO2max estimate after my hikes, because my heart rate is no longer high enough to trigger it. I now need to run to get a VO2max estimate!21

My NSV this morning is (finally) recognizing that I was too tired and too sore to go to the gym. My shoulder pockets are so sore they feel sunburned, and knees are begging for a break.
So took the dog for an hour and a half walk, stopped for latte and dog treat, bought a mom-cookie for later.
I feel refreshed and like I have energy to actually pick up the house. After power yoga, lol. Can’t just sit on my *kitten* all day. 🤷🏻♀️
@mlrtri yes!!! Abs of steel hiding under gobs of extra skin! We know it, even if the world doesn’t! 😜23 -
Got a glimpse of abs!24

Feeling a bearable amount of muscle soreness from weight lifting yesterday, which means I pushed myself but not too hard. Also had a pretty low sodium day yesterday, which is great because I'm eating out tonight and will definitely go over the recommended sodium amount today. (I'm just going by the FDA recommended 2300 milligrams- no special diet).13
