I bought a pair of Australian size 10 shorts and a pair of Australian size 10 jeans the other day to work towards. Both are stretchy. I tried them on that afternoon, expecting to not even be able to do them up yet, but they both fit somewhat comfortably. I mean I still have a ways to go before they fit properly as there is a a little digging in, but I was able to wear the shorts for the rest of the afternoon until my shower that night, including some time spent sitting on the couch and didn’t feel the need to change into something more comfortable. This blows my mind because even though I know from my measurements that I could squeeze into a 10, it is still so hard to fathom that *I* can actually fit into them. I always thought my bone structure would not allow me to wear anything less than a 12. And the 10s look so tiny when I hold them up. I often find myself just holding them up and looking at them thinking “there must be some type of sorcery going on here- they must grow when I put them on my body” (which obviously because they’re stretchy they do- but not as much as my mind tells me they do.) I didn’t even want to try the jeans on when I held them up because of how tiny they looked to my but my partner encouraged me to do it. I was surprised when they slipped straight on and done up!
Also some of my size L (equivalent to Au12) tops are baggy enough that I could have gotten away with a size M.24 -
I can do stuff in my yoga practice that I could not before, just poses I feel like I’m getting better at and balancing better.
I have a 4 year old with autism. He doesn’t always have the exact right words to say things, but he noticed… He said “why are you so small? I think you were not so small. I think you are shrinking.”38 -

Out of the mouths of babes!!!! And it's the truth!15 -
My son graduated college, and I don't hate the pictures of me35

I was able to plant my flower and vegetable gardens without suffering from back pain. My balance is also so much better than it was before I started working out.27

The app updated and the new front page is so confrontational about the amount of calories you ate (I went over goal by 137 today and it tells me 137 overweight, like what?) and it also confronts you with your last logged weight when you scroll down a bit so I hate it, yikes.
Anyway, for the NSV: I was staring at myself in the mirror after I got home from my workout before I got into the shower and my stomach seemed bigger. I was really confused because it always looks the same after I work out or even when I don't and while I've beem going over calories a bit every now and then, I'm still a solid 3-400 calories under maintenance so I couldn't have gained fat and I wasn't feeling bloated and my period ended yesterday so I was confused. So I stared and stared from all angles and suddenly it hit me. My stomach had lifted. It looked bigger because the bottom part of it wasn't sagging all the way down anymore but that part had lifted into the main belly part. Yay!!!
I know what I my stomach looked like when I was some 15kg lighter than I am now but I have no idea about how it went from that to how it looked yesterday but I'd been fed up about every part of my body changing except my stomach. I even lost a cm off my head circumference!!! My head is now a cm smaller than it was when I was a teenager who wae only like 3-5kg overweight and I have no idea how that happened. My legs and hips and back and butt slimmed down a ton and my arms just got more muscle definition but my stomach had been looking the same between the start of my journey and yesterday.
I'm so happy that there's finally some change there! I've been vigorously exercising for almost 9 months now, including a lot of heavy lifting, so I knew it was bound to happen at some point but I didn't know when and it took soooooo much patience. I'm not a patient person at all.
I'm so happy!!!27 -
After months of wearing too-big clothes, I finally caved in and did some clothes shopping (I'm 40 lbs down, but still not finished my weight-loss journey, so I was holding off on buying too much stuff.) I've always been short, and I've never been a big fan of most of the pants in the lady's section. BUT! I am now officially able to get jeans from the Juniors section again! So I bought, like, five pairs of flared pants.25

We went to Sea World today and when we went on the Flamingo paddle boats, the lady handling out life jackets handed me the same life jacket she handed my 12 year old son and my 17 year old bean pole son! And it fit. 😀
Also, I was trying to decide what to wear and I have a pair of size 16 capris I thought I would try on just to see and not only did they fit. They need altered a little to fit better and not gap at the waist band! 😀25 -
I'm wearing a medium in cute little shorts again and wearing them outside the house.25

Today I bought pants in a size large. Last summer I wore a 2X.34

I just walked 18 holes of golf today!! First time in 20 some years
I also shot a 7830 -
Ordered some Matador meggings on the 24th and got them yesterday. So decided I’m using them for my Friday run. When I suited up I thought these feel a bit different snug? 🤔.. pulled them down… daum seems that I purchased a small instead of the usual large. Well they were on and I wont be able to return them since they went on after I had put on some bio-freeze on my lower back. So decided F.. it. So ran 8 miles and they worked well overall. I’ll be washing them and gifting them to my daughters boyfriend. The fact they stayed on and I didn’t pass out while running over 80 minutes was my surprise NSV.. The one positive on this mistake is I’ll be buying mediums on my next pair of meggings. Should be a perfect fit.23

My wrists and forearms look slim for the first time in 14 *kitten* years!! Yay me!! But I still gotta work on those arms and shoulders!! Slow and steady I guess!!🙌20

Fitting comfortably into smaller clothes, and BFF saying that I look younger. Wow. Didn't think that was a thing!21

Now recovered from a near lethal accident two years ago, then internal surgery to correct a flaw, I started MFP and resumed fitness and resistance training in October, lost 28 and have been in maintenance since January.
Yesterday I looked in the mirror, saw all the hard work and felt proud of my body again.31 -
The amount of stuff I got done yesterday without feeling completely exhausted. Farmer's market (with excited puppy in tow), grocery store, multiple walks with the dog, sorting laundry/other household chores, cooking 2 healthy meals, going bowling and to the arcade for 3 hours straight. A year ago, I would have probably let household chores and errand shopping take up my whole day. Now, I have the energy to do that AND give my dog the attention she deserves AND have a social life. Maybe not every day or every weekend, but it feels good to have the energy to not have to choose amongst taking care of my home, my body, or my relationships with others.28

I could hold the string trimmer (weed eater/week whacker/etc) the whole time while trimming the grass without stopping.23

I didn't start out thinking I would do this. But when I got to about 15 miles on my Elliptical, I realized since I have to babysit @ 5:30-9 tonight, I wouldn't get a second session in today. And decided to try for something. I wish I knew how up upload photos to the site, to show you. I DID 337 MINUTES ON THE ELLIPTICAL FOR 26.25 MILES. AND I FEEL FINE. GREAT ACTUALLY! As far as any plan this is most likely a one time thing. Just wanted to see if I could do it.27

I was feeling sad and discouraged after work yesterday, recognised it, and didn't binge! I drove straight past a McDs and went home and ate my mackerel + vegetables that I had prepared.34

I have this blouse that's supposed to be loose fit but has no stretch. It's always been loose and lovely around my chest and shoulders but I could only fit my belly, lower back (where I carry a lot of fat) and upper hips in when wearing jeans under the blouse, as jeans typically hold me in. Today I put on regular nice work pants (which got very loose around the waist recently), which would have been a problem a few weeks ago, and the blouse falls perfectly and loosely over that area. I am so happy. It finally looks the way it's supposed to, it's so comfortable and I feel really pretty.35

My most recent NSV is on Sunday it was my 10 year MFP anniversary. 10 years, 120 months, 3,650 days, 87,600 hours, 5,256,000 minutes, 315,360,000 seconds ago today, I was morbidly obese, unhealthy, and at the heaviest I have ever weighed. I made a lifestyle decision to get control of my eating habits...my life depended on it. I started using My Fitness Pal and got honest with myself. I gathered a group of online and personal friends for support and accountability. With their help and support, I lost 82 lbs. over time and have been able to keep it off. During this time, I didn't really deny myself anything I wanted to eat or drink. There have been ups and downs, gains and losses, but overall I'm glad I made that decision 10 years ago. If you're not happy where you're at health wise, I encourage you to make a decision that you've been avoiding. 1 day at a time. You'll be glad you did.52

I finally see it. I'm down 70 pounds since I started a year ago. While I notice the losses and that I fit into smaller clothes, it's still been hard not to see myself as still being the same weight. I was looking on my website the other day where I have photos of myself and was shocked to see how much my face has changed. I'm not sure why I just noticed, but it's definitely time for new head shots and marketing photos. I can't wait to replace the old ones!!30

A little over a week ago, I went to a reunion. I just realized that not only did I allow myself to be included in photos, I actually asked to have some taken. As someone who has avoided having my picture taken like the plague (for at least the last decade or so, age & weight both factoring in) this was a huge change mentally and I'm only two thirds of the way to my goal!28

I'm FINALLY comfortable in my body in that sit-down-in-a-bikini-without-folding-my-arms way! It's the only way I can think to describe it and I've only felt this way a couple times in my entire life. I don't feel self-conscious no matter what I'm doing or wearing or how I'm positioned. It's the best feeling! I really have to maintain my body at this size because constantly fussing over my body is such a waste of energy and feeling fantastic every day as my default is WORTH IT!28

Not sure if it’s a proud NSV moment. But it is an NSV moment nonetheless. It happensed yesterday while I was in the back yard playing fetch with the pooches. It was fairly windy as I stepped up back onto the patio the wind managed to push me back to the yard. I checked the watch and it said wind was 16 mph. I’ve run in 20 mph winds without an issue. I’m hoping that it was a very strong gust that knocked my a s s off the porch. 🤣17

I haven't weighed in since I started back at it. And yesterday I decided to try on my goal weightloss jeans just to see if I was making progress. THEY BUTTON AND ZIP! I still have a long way to go and I still have to lose more in order for them to fit well enough to wear out but I"m so excited! (I posted it on my weightloss journey tiktok as well).

I am 18 pounds down (not quite halfway to goal) but I have been able to totally get off my heartburn/GERD medication (omeprazole)!34

Mine is I can walk the cave and still drive whole day without getting too tired!18

Yesterday, my sister and I hiked a trail we haven't done since last year. The very first time we first did it, I had to stop so many times to catch my breath and it took us almost two hours. Yesterday, despite not hiking since last fall, I never had to stop and we set our benchmark time for this year at one hour and twenty minutes. Can't wait to see our pace in a few months. It was a beautiful day with fabulous company. Life is good.22

Got a 5k or 3.1 miles done with an Avg. Pace of 8'43''/MI. Additionally I did it with an Avg. Cadence of 177 SPM and managed to maintain an Avg. Heart Rate of 148 BPM. For a guy about to turn 52 in 24 days hey I'm going to take it as a nice NSV. I sat on a park bench and enjoyed the moment afterwards. Still had over a mile before I could make it home and didn't feel like taking time and just walk. So thought I'll jog real real real slow. First 50 feet I felt stiff and made me think that a slow jog was not going to be to difficult. After shaking off the initial stiffness I figured meh lets just take it slow and if I need to walk so be it. My perception was off. Got the mile done in 10'32" and I stopped. I guess the fast 5k and the initial stiffness made me think I was going much slower. I walked very slowly the remaining distance home...19
