Got a 5k or 3.1 miles done with an Avg. Pace of 8'43''/MI. Additionally I did it with an Avg. Cadence of 177 SPM and managed to maintain an Avg. Heart Rate of 148 BPM. For a guy about to turn 52 in 24 days hey I'm going to take it as a nice NSV. I sat on a park bench and enjoyed the moment afterwards. Still had over a mile before I could make it home and didn't feel like taking time and just walk. So thought I'll jog real real real slow. First 50 feet I felt stiff and made me think that a slow jog was not going to be to difficult. After shaking off the initial stiffness I figured meh lets just take it slow and if I need to walk so be it. My perception was off. Got the mile done in 10'32" and I stopped. I guess the fast 5k and the initial stiffness made me think I was going much slower. I walked very slowly the remaining distance home...19

I actually went to the gym this morning.
As someone who is travelling for work right now, actually getting up and making it to the gym is kind of a big deal for me as I hate gyms. I know I'm going to eat like crazy on this trip (because I love to try different food when I'm travelling) so if I'm able to keep my fitness up, then at least it should be easier to keep at a sensible weight while I'm here and easier to lose when I'm home.25 -
I'm getting back to logging seriously. I didn't have any major weight gain while I was taking a break from it but I noticed I put on a few pounds over a few months so I don't want to slowly gain that back. Plus I want to drop a nice amount to get closer to goal weight. Anyway my NSVs were logging my food again yesterday and the day before, and also not having four marshmallows yesterday even though they were only 100 calories. Normally I wouldn't mind but while I'm getting back on track I want to make it a little easier to avoid cravings, and for me, cutting out refined sugar helps with that.29

My abs were sore after my work out and I realized that under all of this extra fat I am carrying around is a skinny me. This sounds stupid probably. But it was the first time I didn’t think of myself as a fat person who would always be fat. My first realization that I have the power to change what I don’t like. Now I have to keep going and prove this to myself.41

This is one perhaps only Garmin users will understand: my fitness level has increased to the point where my watch no longer gives me a VO2max estimate after my hikes, because my heart rate is no longer high enough to trigger it. I now need to run to get a VO2max estimate!21

My NSV this morning is (finally) recognizing that I was too tired and too sore to go to the gym. My shoulder pockets are so sore they feel sunburned, and knees are begging for a break.
So took the dog for an hour and a half walk, stopped for latte and dog treat, bought a mom-cookie for later.
I feel refreshed and like I have energy to actually pick up the house. After power yoga, lol. Can’t just sit on my *kitten* all day. 🤷🏻♀️
@mlrtri yes!!! Abs of steel hiding under gobs of extra skin! We know it, even if the world doesn’t! 😜23 -
Got a glimpse of abs!24

Feeling a bearable amount of muscle soreness from weight lifting yesterday, which means I pushed myself but not too hard. Also had a pretty low sodium day yesterday, which is great because I'm eating out tonight and will definitely go over the recommended sodium amount today. (I'm just going by the FDA recommended 2300 milligrams- no special diet).13

I went for a hike with my 3 dogs last week, and I passed a couple that I've seen frequently over the years, but not in the past few months. As we passed each other, we exchanged pleasantries, and the guy said "you look like you've lost weight" and his wife smacked him. I grinned from ear to ear and said "thanks for noticing!" Felt great!29

1. I changed my step goal today from 6,000 to 7,000 - (Once I consistently hit that I'll move it up again.)
2. When checking my step goal I realized 6 of the last 10 months I didn't hit 70,000 steps for the ENTIRE MONTH and this month I've hit 72,500 so far this month in 9 days!34 -
209.4 lb bench press!!! It was with a 3-in block, but still!!!18

I ate and drank whatever I wanted on vacation. Came home a little bloated but after a week I'm already back to losing weight. Turns out eating and drinking whatever I want is a lot less than what it used to be.27

I took 10,000 steps on Saturday for the first time in many months. I was pretty tired and a little sore the next day since I'm heavy and not used to walking that much, but totally worth it.29

I no longer fit into any of my work clothes so I had to buy smaller pants!27

Logging regularly for the first time in a few years, and it seems to be back to a routine I can manage. With that and regular long walks I am feeling healthier that I have since before the pandemic.22

I really struggle to do any kind of activity after work. I don’t work long hours in an active job and by 6pm I’m done.
However, I didn’t wake up early enough yesterday to jog so I decided to jog home. I got in an amazing run and even had a PB on my 5k time 😊 I’m still new enough to running that evening having a 5k time is still a novelty21 -
Being offered Chapman's premium maple walnut ice cream and deciding instead to have Siggi's plain 1% skyrr with added dutch cocoa powder and sweetener. Better mouth feel, less fat and sugar, more protein. Getting pickier about how I spend my calories.20

I finally joined a proper gym after 13 years!! No group classes and CrossFit for me! Just good ole treadmill and weights!! I feel really good emotionally and physically and I'm more conscious of my eating than before! Oh and the sleeveless dress that I'm wearing in my pp? I wore it outside today and nobody was snickering while looking at my arms!!! Next goal is to slim my arms more and order another sleeveless dress!!!!😘😎24

For the first time ever, my doctor said I was getting enough vitamin D🥹21

I was craving pizza and made my own including the crust so I could control the calories and ingredients.20

Last night my calories allowed for a lot of treats. I just had one mini chomp bar even though I have a whole bag of those plus chewy caramel Timtams, curly wurly’s and plain chocolate in my fridge. I’m getting good at this disciplined eating business. There is even cold rock ice cream in the freezer from 3 weeks ago. Admittedly it is my partner’s, but that would not have stopped me once upon a time, I’d eat it, replace it and then help eat the replacement. I made a joke when we got it that it would last my partner a month, and he joked back that I would have it eaten within a week. Jokes on him (he and I have a gentle bullying type relationship, we are always joking with each other but we love each other dearly)15

Getting undressed for bed the other night and my husband saying "WOW! I can really see your body tightening up since you've gone back to lifting!"31

Even with the heatwave we're having I was still able to enjoy my walk in the park yesterday. Heat just doesn't bother me the way it did forty pounds ago. So that's one NSV. The second is this: last Summer my NSV was being able to buy my tank tops in the boy's section at Walmart at $2.97 instead of having to order Women's sizes. Yesterday I put one on to walk and it was loose!! Wearable, but loose. My weight hasn't changed, so I think I'm finally seeing the results of all the weight training. Woohoo!!27

On one of the songs when I did Body Groove tonight, there was a segment where you have to do jumping jacks. I didn't think about it and just did them no problem. I would've done a modified half-jack even a month ago. These little progressions are a big deal and really help with feeling accomplished.30

I realized that my body is changing, even if I'm not actually always losing per the scale.... I have a waist now all the way round, and the skin and fat have sort of sagged downward. It's not attractive but it's progress.29

I played Ultimate last night. First time in a couple years because the 2020 summer league was cancelled for COVID, and the 2021 league was a "hat league." There were some NSVs for sure.
- Our team is pretty small this year. At the start of the game, there were no male subs. It's a co-ed league. I thought, "Hmmm. I'm going to have to play savage (no subs)." I didn't know if I could. Fortunately I didn't have to, but I only sat out one or two points.
- Since I'm not working anymore, I can get to the fields on time. I was early enough to have a little time before we did a warm-up. I did something I don't think I've ever done - I ran a lap around the field for no reason other than to move. Go figure.
- During the game, I could keep up with MOST of the players I had to defend against from the other team. I could at least keep close by. Except one guy. Boy howdy does he have legs.
- I was pleased that after all these years, and taking two years off, that I have a reasonable degree of field-sense. I can see where there's going to be an open spot on the field, and I run to it. The handler sees me go and hucks the disc to that spot. I caught two or three points. I also caught some discs that had gone a little past their intended target (wind was up). I could read the disc and see it wasn't going where they were going, and I ran to where the disc was going. I think I caught three out of four of those. Or maybe, just MAYBE, those were throws to me all along?
- This is the most important: I had a hoot of a good time! Lots of fun! Yay!
- As it turns out, my team won the game. That's the least important. The other team was a fun team to play. I think we play them two more times this season.
- And finally, except for a slightly sore finger (must have made a funny catch) and a little stiffness, I feel pretty good today. Tomorrow is the day I'll be the most sore; I'm hoping it's mild.

We’ve had a mini heatwave over the last few days where I live, and I felt much more comfortable when trying to sleep at night.
I slept in my knickers with the windows ajar, but even then I would’ve been unbearably hot when I was 25lbs heavier. Instead I was cool and comfy, and slept like a baby.23 -
My NSV is that I now know that going on vacation or going home is the real treat. Vacation does not equate to "diet vacation" or "I can eat what I want" --because for me, this is a lifestyle change not a diet.15

3 nsvs--> first i was doing home workouts with 5 kgs dumbbell per hand but i was only concentrating on my shoulders and arms and ignoring my back as i didn't feel anything with 5 kgs . Today at the gym i did a back workout by following Caroline girvan's video. I lifted 7.5 kgs for rowing which was challenging enough!
2nd nsv--> i did interval training on the treadmill and i could run quiet effortlessly!! And i also walked on incline of 5 at the speed of 6.6 km/min.12
