Found some quotes that I like from years ago.

Week 4 Day 4: Felt well-rested but was again stiff early in my run and had to concentrate on breathing and relaxing into my run. Stiffness didn't pass quickly and the run was sluggish but finished strong. Passed the 4 mile mark today. 4.04 miles in 67 minutes. Barbell shoulder press 6x4 @115lbs.

Like the dedication and you can definitely notice the effort that you’re putting in. Keep it up! Rooting for you!1

@MaggieGirl135 - Thanks! Hope your workouts are going well.
Week 4 Day 5: Back was not feeling great and I was hunched over most of the morning. Decided to give it one more day of recovery before getting back on the horse. No workout today. Back tomorrow.1 -

Week 4 Day 6: Back was still not feeling great and decided to give it one more day of recovery before getting back to the workout. Back tomorrow (I hope).3

Thanks for the updates! I'm just another one cheering you on from the sidelines.
Also, good job listening to your body. Sometimes stopping to rest can be the hardest part of this journey.1 -

@dralicephd Thank you for your cheers. It really helps me get it in gear with your good vibes.
Week 4 Day 7: Felt good going into my run after a lot of rest. Ankles and calves were stiff briefly and had to relax until the stiffness went away. Run was easy as I was cautious about making my back worse and dialed down the pace a little. Ran 3.93 miles in 67 minutes. Lat pull downs 2x10 @190lbs, 4x8 @200lbs. Felt strong on the pulls and felt I was killing it again today.

Week 4 recap:
Ran 15.76 miles over 4 training sessions.
Did 2 days of lat pulldowns and 2 days of barbell shoulder press.
Kept largely within caloric parameters except for today where I ate steak again. Exercise derailed a little and weight was flat. Looking to move onward with the plan after a few setbacks that allowed me to recover properly.

Week 5 Day 1: Felt well-rested and was not stiff during my run. Ran gingerly because I was nervous about aggravating my back but the run turned out easy today although I pushed the pace a little. Passed the 4 mile mark again today. 4.01 miles in 67 minutes. Barbell shoulder press 5x5 @115lbs, 1x5 @125lbs.

Today is the 30th day since I began working out on 5/27/22, so a special edition of my workout recap.
Week 5 Day 2: Felt good going into my run and felt my back getting stronger and withstanding the endless string of workouts. Hoping it keeps holding out. Ankles and calves were not stiff which made the run easy. Ran 4.01 miles in 67 minutes. Cumulative run since 5/27/22 (30 days): 82.72 miles. Lat pull downs 5x10 @200lbs, 1x8 @200lbs. Felt strong on the pulls again today, taking my back to failure.

First 30 day recap:
Ran 82.72 miles over 23 training sessions.
Did 12 days of lat pulldowns and 11 days of barbell shoulder press.
Weight dropped 10.8 lbs over 30 days.
Kept largely within caloric parameters except for 6/1/22 when I had a huge steak dinner. Today I walked an extra 2.2 miles for an errand where I elected to walk instead of drive. It was hot today - if I had to do it over again I would drive. Not sure if the comparison pictures show much difference, but I sure feel much better. Looking to move onward with the plan after a few setbacks that allowed me to recover properly.

Week 5 Day 3: Spent all day officiating an athletic meet for my children. After being on my feet all day I decided to skip tonight's workout. Back tomorrow.0

Week 5 Day 4: Felt well-rested and was not stiff during my run. Ran gingerly because I was nervous about aggravating my back but the run was easy today although I pushed the pace a little. I actually wanted to run faster but reined it in to keep at my planned pace. Don't want to burn out hot and ruin the rest of the week's workouts. Passed the 4 mile mark again today. 4.05 miles in 67 minutes. Cumulative run since 5/27/22 (32 days): 86.77 miles. Barbell shoulder press 4x5 @115lbs, 2x4 @125lbs.
