Tracking My Calories Reminded Me to Eat More

Tracking my calories helped me realize I needed to eat more. I'm active and have to eat more to keep up with my activity level, or I get tired and wear down over time. I'm already in good shape, I use myfitnesspal to track what I'm doing so I can be at my best. It's not always about losing weight.

I am learning the same thing except for I do need to lose weight. Sounds odd doesn't it? I need to eat more to lose weight? Turns out I was drinking a majority of my calories in the form of sugar and creamer in my constantly filled up coffee cup. Now that I've cut that out and am starting to eat real food... I'm losing weight and feeling the energy my coffee and sugar did not give me!11

I started working with a nutrition and fitness coach that totally gets this. I was started on a reverse diet during which time I am not supposed to lose any weight. My calories and weight training are increased every couple of weeks to find that perfect balance. I am losing inches and feel terrific. Once the balance is identified, I will begin the weight loss phase of the program. I anticipate it may take up to a year to complete the cycle. But when you have been averaging 900 calories a day, there is a lot of clean up to do.6

Me too! When I was in the depths of my eating disorder I was starving myself and over exercising. I was shocked to learn how little I was eating when I finally tracked my calories. Now I’m trying to lose a few pounds by eating 2200-2300 calories on a weekly average. I have to track my calories to make sure I’m eating enough to lose a little bit of weight otherwise I can easily undereat again. It’s honestly amazing what calorie counting can do.1

I’m trying to gain weight and calorie counting on here definitely helps me too. I don’t always hit the goal but it still makes me think during the day about how I can get some extra calories in.0

Same here! Overshot my original weight loss goal, got too skinny, started weight training. Tracking helped immensely to bring the weight back up.1
