50 lbs lost (before and after)

Thanks to my wife for taking the after pic in forgiving light and indeed persuading me to get in front of a camera in the first place. I have no shirtless before pic because I refused to take one.
I started my weight loss and body recomposition journey in December 2019, weighing in at 216 to 218lbs. For the first 26-27 months I tracked my nutrition and calories in my head on a daily basis. I did not yet have a tracking app. Probably because I am 56 years old, from the pre smartphone and even pre internet era. I joined MFP in May 2022 as a means of facilitating communcation with others and the ability to dial in macros with greater precision.
By December 2021 I had overshot my original weight loss goal by about 7 pounds, weighing in at 158lbs. This was too skinny. I lacked muscle tone, no abs and despite my low body weight had an awful look of male gyno. So I began weight training in an effort to make a set of mole hills out of man-tits. I still have some jelly to burn off but as of July 1st 2022 the day of the after picture I think we have passed a gate.
The challenge here forward is to continue to improve body composition (kill gyno) and test the abilities a 55+ person to build muscle.
I hope this post encourages you at any stage in your journey.
Feel free to reach out and/or send a friend request if you are in a similar place or have questions about my particular path.

'Forgiving light' doesn't give you a chest light that, or visible abs. They're either there or not there. You look great. Clearly you've put in a lot of work0
