My name is Donna. I am 62 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall.
Start Weight (from end of July 2022 ): 201.6
Goal Weight: 196.6 (5 pound loss)
End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (Iβll know it when I get there!)
Weight in blue makes me blue because itβs a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because itβs a loss. Weight in black means no change.
08/01-201.2-(Trend Weight: 201.4)-
08/05-200.2-(Trend Weight: 201.2)- Time to progress to progress. Funny itβs the same spelling but a completely different word and meaning and pronunciation. But so true for meβ¦β¦ I have for the better part of this year been just barely maintaining. I need to lose weight. Being around 200+ pounds is totally unacceptable!
08/12-197.8-(Trend Weight: 199.4)- I have been pretty careful most days as I heal from the surgery. I have not been allowed to get in much movement however but I still managed to drop a bit. My daughter is getting married on Sept 3rd. Lots of planning going on. I am working hard to look my current best (or better). I am very happy, especially, to see my trend weight going down.
08/19-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-
08/26-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-
08/31-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Wow. I am feeling like I am finally making progress again; down 2.8 pounds since the end of July! That's almost 1.5 pounds per week, which is faster than I should be losing, but I think the end of July was an artificial high. I've been very active, so that helps. I can't imagine any other explanation. I paddled whitewater last Wednesday, then I paddled 20 miles of flatwater on Monday, ten on Wednesday, and another 20 yesterday. I played Ultimate on Thursday. So, yeah, I guess I'm finally burning it off.

August 8: 96.6 Went camping this weekend, did not log food for the last 3 days, but luckily got plenty of exercise.
August 13: 93.5 Frankly undeserved as the first half of the week was a definite diet break. The heat wave making me sweat?

You're doing so well activity wise! I can't wait till I'm able to be so active once again. When you say paddled.....are you in a kayak? In a group or by yourself & partner? Great news about continuing to drop the weight for whatever reason.3 -

Sometimes I'm in a kayak. Sometimes it's a whitewater kayak. Sometimes it's a touring kayak (sea kayak). Sometimes I'm in a canoe. Sometimes it's a whitewater canoe. Sometimes it's a touring (flat water) canoe.- Whitewater kayak is a Dagger RPM, although I also have an old Prijon Tornado for multi-day self-support. Neither of these boats are in current production. I used to have three of the RPMs. I sold one.
- Sea kayak is an Impex Diamante. No longer made. It's 16.5' long and about 22" wide. No rudder, but it does have a retractable skeg.
- I also have a wood sea kayak I don't really use. It's a Pygmy Arctic Tern 14, so 14' long. I still have a little work to do on it, but it's a pretty boat.
- Whitewater canoe is a Mad River Rampage, mango in color, no longer made. I like it.
- Tandem canoe is an Old Town Discovery Scout, no longer made. It's good up to class 3 whitewater, but it's really a tub.
- Day touring canoe is a Wenonah Advantage in glass. It's 34 years old, and I just bought it last year. I love to paddle it. That's what I've been paddling a lot lately for making long miles on mild rivers. This boat was out of production for a long time, and they're making them again. I can't afford a new one. This one is beat up - there's a big hole that was patched poorly, but the patch holds. Just ugly. Love this boat.
- Expedition canoe is an ultralight Wenonah Encounter. It's a TANK but weighs only 38 pounds. It should carry several weeks (or months) worth of gear in challenging conditions, but a sharp rock can ruin it.
I also have a 15-foot raft with an oar frame that I use to run rivers in comfort and support other people. I'm running the Wild & Scenic Rogue soon and carrying the kitchen, groover, and personal gear for myself and four kayakers.
This is my Advantage.
And Encounter:
My sea kayak ( the red one).
The RPM:
And the raft. We are looking through the smoke at a medium sized bear.
And dropping in to Lava Falls:

@mtaratoot Thanks for the decription and pictures of your kayaks and canoes. That's awesome that you have accumulated so many to enjoy your hobby of paddling. No one in my family or my friends enjoy kayaking so I did it on my own. But then I gained too much weight for my kayak and sold it. My goal is to drop the weight and buy a new kayak and get back out on the water as my husband fishes. I miss it. I don't white water though...lol Maybe I would if I was younger again...

I've been up, I've been down - all within range though. I had one day where I took a rest day from vigorous exercise (first time in a long time) and realized that I really, really count on those exercise calories as part of my normal eating pattern. I mainly use those calories for evening desserts or snacks. Will have to think about whether or not I feel like breaking that habit since I'm still able to maintain even with those snacks.
