If a private group owner leaves MFP, can another group member be assigned as owner?

A group I'm in is in this situation. I have no problem becoming the owner (the group has become stagnant since the owner deleted her MFP account last spring).

    Owners cannot be replaced, but if an otherwise active group does not have any Owners or Leaders available, we can add that for you. Please contact our support team with further details so we can assist.
