In July 2022, at my highest weight of 221 lbs I made a promise that I would make changes in my life. I turned to my son a 4th year medical student for advise. He Said, mom is all about what you eat. I got my blood work done and we sat down to work on a new healthy way of eating.
The results showed that I need it to cut all red meat some sea food and all fried food. I started my journey at the beginning of August.
Now Dec. 16th. I'm down to 202.8 lbs. Lost 9 lbs of body fat and a total of 18. 92 lbs.
I'm super happy but I still have to lose another 40lbs. It has been a long road but I continue to work at it every day. For sure this fitness pal app has help me tremendously. I'll update in 2 more months to see my improvement.

Yeah for you! Try to look at it as getting healthier, read what is in your foods and the side effects. I started clean eating w/ high protein and I finally after a a few years I have had the scales move and lost about 18. Holidays are so very hard, I am trying not to get back to my old habits. I play a lot of mind games w/ myself. Am I really hunger, you know what that taste like so why bother, you know that is going to make you feel bad, just really thinking before I eat. Good luck, and I also look at it in small portions to lose, like for you I would say I would like to work on losing 2.8 to bring me to another 10 mark and then 1 to go under. Baby steps!0

You seem to be doing the right thing. Having a son who studies medicine is a tremendous asset. It will enable you to avoid the pitfalls of nonsense and quackery that are so rampant in the field of nutrition and weight loss.
Losing weight is possible for absolutely everyone. All it takes is a minimum of information, willpower and patience. Once we find a forever diet that is compatible with our lifestyle, it is essentially smooth sailing from there.
Keep up the good work. You can do it.1
