@LeighAnn7777 Welcome! It's never too late to join us. MFP can be a 'special' app, but the community here is pretty awesome, and I personally love these cyclists that gather and encourage each other to ride.

    Hello everyone!!!

I’m a bit behind catching up on posts and riding, but…

@wendsg Sorry about the foot! I feel your pain, literally, but it’s my right heel!

@Bill70sStrong Oh no! My fear now that I’m mostly in Colorado is falling on ice! Sounds like you are recovering okay though!

@ashleycarole86 Hope the knee is improving!

For me- I ran a half marathon on Sunday with my daughter so I haven’t ridden much this year. But the Peloton is fixed - yea!!!! And after I rolled my ankle a week ago, I think I was striking oddly during my race because my right heel hurts. I’ve had plantar fasciitis before and it can be a *kitten* to get rid of, so I’m going to sleep in a splint and do peloton rather than run for a couple weeks so hopefully I’ll catch up with the challenge a bit. Last year I ended up only doing 2022 K and I’d really like to pull it off in miles. My next race isn’t until June so I can ease off the running for a bit.

Traveling all day today, but hopefully tomorrow I’ll post a ride!!!

Btw to all the Peloton folks- Im in team Wilpers Instagram reel today! I feel like a celebrity!!!

@SavageMrsMoose Gah, it seems like we're all falling apart right at the beginning of the year! LOL Sure hope your recovery goes smoothly! And good on ya gettin' that Peloton repaired. Looking forward to seeing you post some miles! (and congratz on the IG reel feature, as well as the 1/2 marathon)

Short workout ride in Zwift today. No way am I breaking out a real bike when it's kissing the 50s right now outside. I am a delicate flower and can't tolerate the cold LMAO

Another shorter ride - was going to do a long one, but foot says 'lolz nope' to my ambitions. Just rode an hour with a nice, slow pace group.

I rode 3843 miles last year and have finally figured out that just riding more isn't necessarily gonna help with the 20lb I want to lose. So I've started using MFP to track food and have limited to 1600 lo carb, also doing 16:8 IF because it's easy to do with my job (and helps with sugar crash in the afternoon). My issue is getting enough calories in before rides to not bonk but I'm figuring that out.

So here's to more miles in 2023!

@Rich_SC Welcome to the challenge!!! I've found that riding longer also helps. I do adore me a good century ride - it's just rare that I have the time to do them. 😵‍💫

@Mari33a I do hope that it works well for you! I love mine, otherwise I wouldn't gust about them lol

@SavageMrsMoose Good to hear!! Great that you're back on the bike.

Workout day - ramps in Zwift. Ramps are fun. Foot and ankle are being mildly turdly but not terrible. Hopefully they behave for tomorrow's TdZ Stage 4 ride!!

I don't know if I'll get another ride in before Sunday as I'd like to get out for a small run. For the past few weeks the weather has been very 'January' non stop rain last week and snow and ice this week but I think there is a little break coming. Have a good week end everyone!

Tour de Zwift Stage 4 - signed up for the long route, forgetting that it's Surry Hills in London and therefore also features almost 3,400 feet of elevation gain. WHOOPS lol

Good news, foot pretty much behaved (was not happy going into or exiting the shoe, but behaved once in). Knee is toasty but not wailing in agony. So I'd call that a great ride.

    Ride: 16.5mi
    Ytd: 112 (all mtb)

Today was my first attempt at a longish ride after starting caloric restriction (1600). I felt slow, flat, lethargic, mentally foggy, unfocused. Normally I would do 2.5hrs or more but today barely managed 1:30. But other than that it was a great ride, haha.

I either need to either up my calories on days I ride long or vastly recalibrate my mtb expectations!
