    Don't know what Americans you know, but there's quite a few different accents in the US. I've got a strong southern one myself

    Yes this is true. I came from Puerto Rico to NY. The only English i heard or learned sounded like how they speak in the Bronx. I went into the Marine Corp and was blown away how different english sounded from all over the country. I was amazed that an Italian could sound anything other than the typical NY mobster sounding guy but instead have that southern accent. And until then i never met another Spanish person that didnt speak Spanish. It was wild

    Right. Short of the southern or New England accents (maybe Midwest also), most Americans don’t think they have. Always interesting when we go overseas.

    I have a slight Puerto Rican accent with a tinge of the southern stuff I’ve picked up living down here for so long. But in the EU I’m always told about me “American accent” which was kinda funny to hear.
