Waking to the thrill of Super Bowl Sunday 🥳
@RubyRed427 enjoy your time babysitting and long walks
My neighbors are home, got in late last night.
So this morning, it’s a quick dog-free walk in the canyon.
Even though my thighs and triceps are achy.
Yesterday I fell while jogging the dogs. My knees are scraped and the tip of my nose grazed the dirt. Funny how the dogs were so concerned (just for a bit) 😂
Hi to ALL
💞 Karen
Sorry you fell!! Hmmm canyon! That sounds lovely.3 -
My name is Mary, 65 from Pennsylvania.
Been MIA for a few months but still logging in everyday since I started MFP 5/14/21. Trying to get back into the swing of posting on my threads I've been in for awhile. 640 continuous days today in a row since I started MFP.
Unfortunately lost my mojo and gained a lot back but not all Thank God! Need to get back on track and focused. I bought a NEW to me, gently used, Commercial PreCor EFX 835 Elliptical. It was delivered the beginning of November, as others here know I wore my previous 10+ year old one out from my extensive workouts. Back up to 150 minutes on my 3 days off per week.
Good to see some familiar names here and glad to see some new ones too!
Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
9/14/20-255 lbs
5/14/21-232.2 lbs
4/6/22- 147.6 lbs (107.4 lbs lost) I did NOT have a surgery. Did Keto.
8/1/22- 167.2 lbs

CHALLENGE ENDING WEIGHT:
CHALLENGE TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS GOAL: Total Loss of 15 pounds to land at 179.8 (seems Impossible, even Laughable but a girl can dream right?)
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.
02/01-194.6-(Trend Weight: 196.7)-
02/06-195.6-(Trend Weight: 196.5)- I ate something for the first time last night that I thought I would HATE. Scallops! Even after rinsing they smelled so fishy but I followed the simple and fast recipe and OMGOSH, they were delicious. Thank you Gordon Ramsey for giving me the faith to try. I was having spaghetti squash with a cream basil alfredo sauce and decided I needed to add some protein and had them in my freezer. After a quick thaw in a bowl, they were only 4 or 5 minutes to cook. According to MFP, the 5 small scallops came in at 89 calories and 4 carbs. I will be having them again!
02/13-192.2-(Trend Weight: 195.2)- Travel today to endocrinologist for 1st consult. I am hoping my improvements will help me avoid insulin although I am a million miles away from where I need to be in weight, BMI and my glucose fasting numbers. I hope the doctor will see my progress as hopeful and give me a chance to continue improving without adding insulin.

I am Naomi and I am 44 from Vermont! I am 5'3" and looking to lose 10 pounds over the next three plus months. I lift weights 4-5 times per week as well as do cardio. I think I will ramp my cardio up with some HIIT workouts to try to change things up a bit. I would also like to add in 5 minutes of stretching at night before bed to start. Start small and add!

Hi All,
Im Loren and I live in NY. I am 61. My end goal is to end up at 140. I have a long way to go. I like this challenge because it gives me a goal to strive for. I have just begun exercising again after a long hiatus. I've done MFP successfully in the past but again it has been a while.

GW for this challenge:165 since I am starting a bit late.8 -
Happy Monday Everyone,
I'm weighing in on Monday this week instead of Wednesday's because I realized tomorrow is Valentines and I WILL be having a nice dinner tomorrow. This way I'll give myself the week to work off any gains tomorrow
I'm upping my walking and exercise and I've done good for me so far and I hope the downward trend continues-I've been here before and I seem to get stuck once I get between 188 and 191. So fingers crossed.
Wishing everyone a good week.

What a week. I always struggle to eat well and work out during a certain week each month. I had body aches and lack of concentration this week. So instead of lifting weights, I did some online spin classes on my stationary bike at home, and I actually really enjoyed it! I had a few splurges this weekend while visiting with friends and family; three beers and a couple chocolates. But I tried to eat somewhat balanced, although I was a little carb-heavy with my meals. Overall I feel okay about my progress.
Question for the group: I have an old school scale at home, so it's tricky to 'guestimate' my exact weight. Any recommendations for a digital scale? I'm always so overwhelmed with options that I never know what to get

Hi, I'm Joan, and turned 80 years old last December. I live near Kamloops, BC in Canada. My weight has crept up over the last couple of years, and I need to lose 15-20 lbs. I was on keto for the last year, but i kept gaining weight anyway. So I started MFP three weeks ago, eating a varied diet and tracking everything. It is working! I am 5' 2". Used to be 5'4" but you know, age..

Hi I'm back
Sherri from BC. 60 years old.
Starting weight 192 lbs
3 month goal 180 lbs
Year Final goal 150 lbs
It has been a crazy 3 months. The last 3 weeks were the hardest on me. My mother was put in the hospital at the end of November with kidney and heart failure.
She was getting better but after a month went down hill.
We went to visit her at the end of January and she was not eating much. We had to go to the hospital every day at meal times to feed her.
When we left she had been put on Comfort Care. We got home and were only home for 1 day when she passed away. We had to turn around and go back. It was a 10hr drive each way.
Have been home now for a week and I'm finally getting back to a regular routine at home but haven't been eating properly and am trying to get back to better eating habits
I really need to get back into eating healthier and find a exercise plan that works for me.
Here's to getting back on track12 -
@Sistersue3285 I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I hate to say you never get over it but you learn to live with it.4

I'm still working on tracking my food. I was shocked to realize how easy it is to go over my calories, but I suppose that's what happens for most people once they start. Doesn't help that I meal planned and went shopping before committing to tracking my calories! I've noticed that I don't get close to my fiber goal and I tend to go over on fats. Wednesdays are my grocery shopping days so I'll try and plan better this week. I think my dairy consumption throws me off since I buy full fat yogurt for my kids and 2% milk. I haven't started exercising yet either It's hard to get out of that mindset of "I'll start on Monday" because if you miss the Monday then you wait a week. But I've been getting over a sinus thing which has really knocked me off my feet this past week.
My calorie goal is 1750/day. I want to split it up close to 400 breakfast, 150 snack, 400 lunch, 150 snack, 500 dinner, 150 dessert/snack. I'm up early with my kids and instantly hungry. I also need a good protein source when I eat. I don't feel well on all carbs. Any go to's? I can meal prep and eat the same thing over and over to make it easier. Dinner is hard though but I'm working on calculating calories of what I cook and portioning it out.

So I think my night time snacking is setting me back with the calories. I really think IF will be beneficial for me, but my week is half evening shifts (my normal wake up time) and half morning shifts; which makes it harder for me to pick an eating window. I don’t like the idea of IF, just that I can use it to loose some storage fat. Plus I’ve been doing a lot of running and with IF I can hopefully settle into a balanced routine without all the cardio time.
This image kept me sane as I’ve watched the scale swing from 150 to 155 randomly this week 😥

@deepwoodslady thanks for the lovely Valentine 💘 meme
@Plasicage great visual reminder especially after Super Bowl Sunday meme
I enjoy cardio at home with a trampoline or group workouts at the gym. For home ST I’m trying and enjoying isometric holds with hand weights.

I've had Covid this week and I've been knocked down for the past five days. Finally starting to get around a little today but have been averaging <2200 steps/day since Friday. Not much of an appetite which has helped the scale. Plan to not push myself too hard until I have recuperated; this is not a race.11 -

@200Karen Cute dogs!! I am babysitting this coming weekend. I'll keep you updated. I can't wait.
I went for my annual physical and now have high blood pressure - just above normal.
Doctor recommends:
Daily monitoring by taking my BP at home.
Reduce salt intake
Walk 30 min. a day.
I told her I know I can do this!
She said it's not only weight that contributes to high BP.
I am trying at least. I've been logging food nearly 15 days every day.
Weighing every day.
Listening to interesting audiocasts on NOOM.
