Have you ever swam in a lake filled by the waters from a melting glacier? Even though I did it over 30 years ago, can you understand how vivid my memories of that experience remain?0

Don't I imagine it was similar to my unforgettable experience 30 years ago swimming in a small lake high in the Sierras and the even more unforgettable experience 50 years ago swimming in a larger lake in Switzerland?0

Because teenagers don't always put two and two together, shouldn't they be warned that glacier-fed lakes are cold, even in the summer? Or is it better to let them experience a bone-chilling, heart-stopping, breath-taking cold that will still be chiseled into their memories decades later?2
