I finally reached my goal weight after years of work with a lot of help using MyFitnessPal to track my progress. I’m always up for motivating & inspirational friends. I joined a gym in December to tone up & strengthen & try to go about 5 days a week.0

Spent years from bodybuilding then switched to triathlons and the Iron Man before being struck with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. After much stress, self doubt and failures I’ve decided that though exercise, complicated as it is for me that it’s time to take back control of my life from this disease inch by inch. Could certainly use positive helpful support on this journey and would be happy to reciprocate! 😃0

Hello everyone.

I am 30, she/her, and Australian.
I’m new; but I am also not. I joined in 2017 and lost 26kg in a little over a year. I felt incredibly healthy, happy and pretty much reinvented myself. I hiked mountains, traveled, ran 5km everyday (eventually) without breaking a sweat, I moved cities, finished my degree and feel madly in love with my beautiful boyfriend.
Then…despite repeating telling myself ‘I’ll never return to my old ways’, I got a bit complacent.
I stopped running, then walking, I decreased my yoga practice until eventually stopped completely. My meal planning and calorie counting slowed to a complete stop. Life just got busy you know? I am study a masters full time, working full time and I forgot what it felt like to feel ‘big’.
So I put about 18kg back on over the past 2 years and I have decided to stop the laziness, stop to excuses, stop telling myself ‘I’ll start NEXT Monday.’ Another huge motivator for me is that my partner and I found out we can’t have children without IVF. So that’s my goal. Loosing weight and getting healthy for IVF.
So this time I am dedicating everyday and choice (and I’m not going to sugar coat it for you if you’re new here; it’s the hardest thing you’ll ever do) to my future family. My body is a bloody temple, not a John Deer tracker.
I know My Fitness Pal works. It’s the best tool in the box. Use it. Use it everyday until you get what you deserve and then keep that tool within reach; literally or metaphorical. Forever.
Ps. I don’t work for a this app- this app works for me 💪🏻
