Hi! I'm Chris - 72 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.

Very frustrating. I didn't do anything different over the past week but gained anyway. I'm guessing water weight, although I really didn't have any high sodium days.
Even though my body seems to want me to stay around 162 I'm not giving up!

04/01-DNW-(Trend Weight: DNW)- I woke up today in quite a depressed state. I am bothered that my normal routine has been so very disrupted. I realized I have not even gotten dressed since Thur morn when I had to travel. I am still bloated and am quite sure I have put on a few pounds while going through all of this medical drama. Even with the medication change, my bp was down way too low again yesterday and I couldn’t get any fitness in because of it. Food is not the answer and does not solve the problems! I ate things I shouldn’t have mixed in with good pre-planned choices but the in-betweens threw me out of plan. I am a mess. I will work on myself today though it is babysitting day again. That will not leave much time for me but I’ll do my best. Tomorrow (Sunday) is a rare free day this week. No babysitting and no drs appointments. Tomorrow I can really focus. I’ll be back to travel on Monday. In the meantime, I am logging my food and going to youtube to find some positive affirmations that I can listen to (and repeat). I really need them today. I am re-doing March goal in April due to all the medical issues, thus my starting weight and April goal.

My name is Mary, 65 from Pennsylvania.
Been MIA for a few months but still logging in everyday since I started MFP 5/14/21. Trying to get back into the swing of posting on my threads I've been in for awhile. 668 continuous days now today in a row since I started MFP.
Unfortunately lost my mojo and gained a lot back but not all Thank God! Need to get back on track and focused. I bought a NEW to me, gently used, Commercial PreCor EFX 835 Elliptical. It was delivered the beginning of November, as others here know I wore my previous 10+ year old one out from my extensive workouts. Back up to 150 minutes on my 3 days off per week.
Good to see some familiar names here and glad to see some new ones too!
Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
9/14/20-255 lbs
5/14/21-232.2 lbs

2/21/22- 202 lbs Elliptical Interval (HIIT) setting first session 124 minutes for 8.14 miles, zone 3. The had to babysit for about 2 hours, then the second session Interval setting again 56 minutes for 3.75 miles, zone 3= 180 minutes, 11.89 miles.
2/26/23- 202.6 lbs Elliptical HIIT setting Fri, Sat & Sun, 150 minutes 9.89 miles -10.12 miles. So 40+ miles this week, since I took an extra day off on Friday. Waiting for the scale to show my efforts. :-(

My dr put me on wegovy, an FDA approved weight loss drug you inject yourself, once a week. She said it as been very successful for her patients. It really does suppress my desire to eat and I have not experienced other side effects. If interested, you should talk to your dr as it is not for everyone, particularly people with thyroid issues. Plus not all insurance plans cover it so check into that as it is expensive. I will keep posting my progress.5 -

I needed that bit of s shake up!! Saturday was my bday, so lots of sugar in form of chocolate was consumed. I realized I don’t miss eating large quantities of food though. I did eat enough calories this time to gain 1-2 lbs of fat though.
I really need to slow down the daily grind and refocus on things. I see this as an opportunity to change 😄8 -
Hi- I’m Char, a 5’3” 45yr old mom of 3 tween/teens. I have been using MFP for a few years inconsistently. I started at 159lbs in Jan 2018 and lost 25lbs in 8 months. Then maintained until summer 2021. Since then, I swapped around some daily medications and thus my weight fluctuated- going up. Starting 2023, I hit 150lbs — and have recommitted to tracking, weighing and using macros to get that extra weight off. Looking for continued success in 2023. Glad to be here ;-)

04/04-DNW-(Trend Weight: DNW)- Oh my Goodness, I wanted to weigh so badly today! But then, why would I weight the day after travel when the restaurant food usually adds 2-3 extra pounds to the scale? So I am drinking lots of water to offset the high sodium meal, hoping for a TMI to rid myself of the evidence and going to try to close all my fitbit circles today while carefully watching the bp. Fasting glucose this morning was pretty good so that is a good sign of the times I hope. Enjoy your day everyone!

Hi all! I finally worked up the nerve to get on the scale after being so off-track the last few weeks. I'm not at all surprised by the gain. I'm having such a difficult time committing to a healthy lifestyle right now. Everything seems off - sleep, exercise, food. I am exhausted from my 14 month old who wakes up at least three times a night. This has been going on for six months, but I do feel she is sleeping better now. I'm hopeful that once she sleeps through, I will be more rested and better equipped to make healthy choices!

4/6/22- 147.6 lbs (107.4 lbs lost) I did NOT have a surgery. Did Keto.
8/1/22- 167.2 lbs
12/1/22-198 lbs
1/1/23- 213.4 lbs
2/1/23- 207.4 lbs
2/5/23- 207.8 lbs
2/12/23- 206.4 lbs Elliptical Interval setting 150 minutes Fri, Sat & Sun for 9.89-10 miles.
2/19/23- 201.8 lbs Elliptical Interval setting 150 minutes Thur-9.98miles , Fri-9.91 miles & Sun-10.0 miles.
3/1/23- 201 lbs Yippee!!!! January down 6 lbs, February down 6.4 lbs!!!
3/5/23- 200 lbs Elliptical Thurs, Fri & Sun 150 minutes for just over 10 miles each session. Finally glad to see a drop. I was hoping for Onederland though. Oh well, it's inevitable. Can't complain about 7.4 lbs since 2/1, in 4 1/2 weeks.
3/12-23- 205 lbs. Too many carbs lately. Elliptical HIIT setting on Friday & today (Babysitting on Sat) 150 minutes each day, just over 10 miles each day.
3/19/23- 206 lbs. Having a hard time eating less carbs, like before. Elliptical HIIT interval setting for 150 minutes on Thursday, Friday & today (my off work days) for 10+ miles each session.
3/26/23- 210 lbs :-( Elliptical HIIT setting only Friday and Sunday (too many errands & a hair appointment on Saturday) 150 minutes for 10+ miles each day.
4/1/23- 207.6 lbs.
4/2/23- 209 lbs. I need to get my head right and be more accountable to myself in this. I need to get back in control and off the carbs again. Back to my lower level of daily carbs(15g net +/- 3) and FOCUSED on what is best for me! Not short term enjoyment. Elliptical HIIT setting 150 minutes for 10.11 miles today (I do my elliptical like this 3x per week, on my off work days pretty religiously. Thursday, Friday & Sunday this week).
4/4/23- 204.8 lbs
4/5/23- 204.8 lbs Not my usual check in day but hopefully getting myself back on track, FINALLY!!! Was on track Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with my low carbs and it shows! Today I'm on track too!

I am hoping to make some progress this month. I didn't realize how challenging losing 11 pounds in three months would be. I probably should have started of with trying to lose 8-9 pounds.

3/19 201.6 with cast and clothes on so I’d say I’m about where I was o 3/4
3/28 201 with cast on
4/6 200.1 with cast on
Last week's goals:
No- Arm weights daily- since I have a broken leg.
Yes -More green veggies- broccoli and salads
No- More water during the day- currently I drink most of the water at night which makes no sense since it makes me get up in the night often.
Nope- Journal twice this week- just set a time and write for 5 minutes
I am not doing well- I am very stressed at work. I am unable to exercise to work that stress out. My friend told me she has cancer. I was so upset. I am emotionally in a sad place.
I have two more weeks in my cast. I realize things could be worse. Most of my stress if from unrelenting issues at work and that just tumbles into my body- I absorb everyone's emotions. Ugh. I do meditate every evening and I have been sleeping very well - so that's a plus.
This week's goals:
Keep up green veggies each day.
Chill out- stop taking things to heart.
Keep up with making healthy food choices and don't be impulsive.

I will keep posting my progress.
Update 04/07: I am having no side effects with the wegovy. This morning I took my second dose. I am sure I will have to fight with the insurance company to see if they cover it. ( I have started with free sample doses from my Dr.) It does make me feel full almost immediately and has also suppressed my desire to have more than one alcoholic beverage.6 -

Whew! Some decent movement downward for a change is motivating. I reduced my exercise a bit and tried to keep my calorie intake more consistent, with the exception of one day when I ate at maintenance. Instead of evaluating my calories on a day to day basis I have started looking at the average on a weekly basis. Maybe it helped or maybe it's a coincidence.
Will be doing some baking and holiday prep today as we are having our family Easter brunch tomorrow instead of Sunday. I plan to eat at maintenance tomorrow then on Sunday go back to the plan that I've been following.
My original 10 lb goal for this round is no longer realistic so I've revised it to something more achievable.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Revised Challenge Goal: 5 lbs (159.7)
Challenge Actual: 3.7 (161)9 -

My daughter's doctor put her on something for weight loss that seems to do the same thing, she has no desire to eat. I'm not sure what it is but I know it's not wegovy as her insurance wouldn't cover it. Whatever her doctor prescribed it's a medication taken orally. He prescribed it in October and she's lost 40 lbs so far, dropping her A1C back down into the normal range.
If your insurance won't cover the Wegovy and you'd like me to, I can ask her what she is taking and let you know.
