Got a compliment today on my outfit, always good to get some recognition12

I stopped in at the big and tall store to get a new pair of jeans since my old ones were baggy as heck. I expected to get one 4 or even 6 inches smaller, but walked out with a pair 8 inches smaller! Felt pretty happy about that!! Down 45 lbs this year and no sign of stopping!25

Being able to snap my lab jacket and have room when it used to be like 6 inches from even being able to go all the way around me.22

The jeans that I could not get on in the fall and that were so tight a few weeks ago I could barely zip them up? I'm wearing them!

One of my initial reasons for doing this was riding bikes with the neighborhood ladies, and being ashamed and embarrassed that they had to keep waiting up for me, and having to get off my bike and push it up a shallow hill. Even the woman I silently judged as “fatter than me” raced past.
Today, I rode my bike to the gym, which sits atop a long steep hill. I got to the top and realized, I’d only changed down one gear.
A classmate drove past and later asked me what I thought about my e-bike. She was floored when I told her it was just a regular bike. “You made that hill look easy!”
Sunday, I packed my winter clothes away for the season and pulled out my summer things. There was a few moments of gut-punch nausea and panic as I pulled them out. “Omg, I can’t possibly fit these.”
But of course, I can. Begone with you, Body Dysmorphia!!! It’s time for you to go. Get out of my life. And especially my head!

I saw my max heart rate today. First time in years.18

Had to go out and purchase a new pair of jeans and was able to fit into a pair that didn't have a W after the number! big win for me! That hasn't happened in almost 15 years!

My kids absorbed that I come home from the gym happy--so first one, and then the other, started going with me. Now we all come home with that endorphin glow!20

A recorked bottle of wine sitting on the kitchen counter for four days.19

I'm able to do jumping Jack's! It's amazing what you take for granted what your body can do when weight isn't a problem. I remember when mountain climbers were impossible...I now do those very easily. I was so proud to do jumping Jack's this week after a couple of months of modifying. Next up!! Mastering burpies. On the Scale Victories....I've lost two pounds in the last two weeks. 😊12

I scheduled a doctor's appoint in June, at the end of this 12-week challenge I'm doing, to see where I'm at.10

I went down a jean size!10

The change in taste is a huge NSV. I can't believe how much I enjoy experimenting with plain greek yogurt now. Not just sweet, but savory also. I'm even mixing it with mustard to replace mayo in my wraps!16

Today marks 5 years of walking 10k steps or more daily. That is 1826 days in a row. and therefore making it over 18,260,000 steps.
Given that my daily average is over 15K. It varies based on season between 15 and 17K.
That means we are talking nearly 27,5 million steps over 5 years.
Kinda big if you think about it23 -
Today is day 90 sticking to healthy sustainable eating for me. Aside from the weight loss (which has been great!) my blood pressure has gone from around 140/80 to 118/67 and my triglycerides and cholesterol are normal. It feels great not having to worry about going on meds.21

13 months ago I was 388 pounds and couldn't shower without getting winded
Today im now 225 pounds and I ran my first 5km race in 15 years and beat my goal time of 30 minutes. Finished in 27 minutes 54 seconds. I'm so happy right now.35 -
Being able to cross my legs. It has been a few months, but I truly thought I would never be able to do it again.💕13

I just now became aware of an incredible amount of extra space in the bathtub!11

1. I noticed the other day that I was able to go up 16 steps carrying 7-10 lbs bag without feeling winded and needing less time for my heart rate to go back down. this has got to be accumulation of more movement and more consistent exercise
2. My period was normal this month, which I suspect is a result of eating better.11 -
My favorite leather belt is out of holes.
I will have to punch a few more.9 -
Completed my first 7 days of using MFP. Walked for at least 45 mins every day and kept my net calories below 1280 every day. All painless so far, hope I can keep it up.15

Good job! You can, and you'll feel better for it.3 -
Somewhere in this thread I was keeping track of my milestones....At two weeks you feel it, at four weeks you see it, etc.
I was hitting all those milestones pretty much right on time! I even added...At six weeks your spouse sees it.
I've kept up the exercise and realized I could be eating less. So I adjusted my calories. This week, after 12 weeks, I have reached At eight weeks your friends and family see it. However, it took me 12 weeks. 😉 AND IT HAPPENED REALLY QUICKLY. SUDDENLY EVERYONE HAS BEEN COMMENTING! The original quote continues...In 12 weeks the World will see it. So at least in "my" world, at 12 weeks it has worked!
I've only lost 5 pounds but lost quite a few inches. Dont depend on just the scale. Go by inch loss, your endurance and strength. Try on your clothes...that's a big motivator. And keep going! At five pounds, I've lost as much as a chihuahua 🙃13 -
I was pulling my hoodie over my head at the gym and accidentally took off my T-shirt as well. The NSV is that in the past, I would have been self-conscious of someone seeing me without a shirt. Today, I calmly separated the T-shirt from the hoodie, laid the hoodie down and put my T-shirt back over my head. I don't think anyone noticed and more importantly, I wasn't concerned if they did.18

After many months of trying, today i was FINALLY able to do a handstand on my own.

I completed my third week of the stronglifts 5x5 regimen! I haven't worked out in years, so sticking to this for 3 weeks is a big step for me! Ive noticed that i feel "looser". My joints and limbs don't feel as stiff as they once did. I'm 1 pound away from hitting my "50 pounds lost this year" milestone!16

Sometimes victories are not that you did something. Sometimes victories are the belief that you can do something.
I took my blood pressure this morning. It was close to reading as normal. Very close.
I believe that soon I will measure blood pressure in the normal range.
Will be the first time since 2016.
Victories can be about believing in yourself.18 -
I wore a pair of jeans I haven't worn in a while today. Some denim "loosens up" throughout the day. By late afternoon, I could feel my hips moving more freely. On a hunch, I tried something...IT WORKED!!! My jeans can now slide right off me....without unfastening my zipper or snap at the waist. They literally pull off and on like SWEATPANTS 👍.
